the rack i made is for a guy in CO for his WIFES bike..they use the back seat for gear and he wanted a shelf behind that for even more gear.....they are headed from CO to CA for the 4th on a 2 week camping trip.....he is soooo jelous for his 650r lol and its lil itty bitty rentech

I got alot done today. We bought a bunk bed from my neighbor. I took my daughters bed apart and hauled it out to my truck. I took the bunk bed apart and carried the parts up to her room and reassembled the bed. That project took about an hour and a half. I got some work done on my trailer and got it out of my garage. I cleaned up the mess from the trailer and pulled in my buddys '66 dodge 3/4 ton 4x2. I rebuilt the stromberg carb last week. I pulled it into the garage and put her up on jack stands so I can fix the trany leaks, change the fluid and filter and adjust the shift bands. After thats done I'll dile in the carb.

I'll also post some pics of a little trick on how to cut a stright line with a oxy/acetylene torch. I'll post them in the "shop tricks" thread aswell!

And the ol' dodge. I want this truck! It runs damn good and only has 40,000 miles on it.

I got the winter rims and tires swapped off of the Charger...

I do it with a breaker bar and a torque wrench.
I have to use an extension with the torque wrench.
I also have to use a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter because my torque wrench is 1/2 drive.
I got all of the lug nuts to 65 ft lbs, then went around to torque them to 85.
First nut, I twisted the extension off in the adapter.

So, I had to go get another adapter.
I bought a new torque wrench instead.
Actually I bought the adapter too, just in case, but I don't need it for torquing lug nuts any more.

And I learned how far off an adapter and extension makes a torque wrench.
About 12 ft lbs in this case.
I knew it would be off, just not how much.

Got the final torque up to 100 ft lbs.

The heat nearly killed me.

Right now, I'm working on a shot of this www.bakonvodka.com
Smokey.
I think this is a mixer though. It's very smooth as a vodka, but the smokey bacon flavour is a bit much in a straight shot.
It's great with an equal part of bourbon.

There are lots of great recipes on that site.

Well I finally decided to get off my duff and install the 366 spring in the injection pump on the Cummins in the crewcab. Not a bad job, just take a bit to get the top off the IP. BTW the 366 spring, for those that don't know, is a 3200 RPM governor spring, unlike the stock 2500 RPM spring. I also moved the throttle adjustment screw so it could be adjust from the front, and moved the attachment point for the throttle on the IP from the outside of the arm, to the inside....equals crisper throttle response, and a few more RPM when you stand on it.

Took it for a drive to see how my small adjustments work...man does it get up and go!!

I didn't work on anything, but I got pretty drunk last night and took a 15-mile hell ride in a friends' hopped-up 24V Cummins dually. He didn't calm down until I said, "Do you want to go to jail?" It's not like you aren't gong to attract attention with 5" straight pipe split into dual MBRP chrome stacks in the bed. Muffler? What muffler? That thing is louder at idle than my Six Pack Charger was at full throttle under load.

The WW's are rated @ 280 cfm and use a mechanical power valve. That would make them a nice choice for multi-carb setups. :hmmm:
On leetle tiny engines... :D

The 440 in The Black Bitch was nobody's race engine, but it sure liked 1,355CFM of mechanical-secondary goodness. You just had to know how to drive it... it wouldn't bog, but it would've liked another 1,200RPM of stall and much deeper gears. I think it would've come close to 11s through the mufflers on street tires had I changed the converter and gone to 3.91s or 4.10s... but I had to drive it every day, too. 'Twas my only car.

With the nastolgia thing multi-carbs have a major "glitter" effect. By running 3 of the WW's you're at 840 cfm. Some old time manifolds were setup for 6 carbs. :hmmm:

280 x 6 = 1680 cfm

Now that would be eye appeal and performance.

True enough, but I've never seen a multi-carb intake with the Carter BBD flange, which is what that carb uses.

True 'nuff, the only ones I've seen are some early GM tri-power setups.

Oh well, adapters are cheap.

My brother has/had a 348/409 intake with 8 carbs...Haven't seen it in years, or even asked him about it. It was very cool, even had carbs...not sure what they were though..97's I think?
