What are you working on?

I've been busy with a rather large project the last few weeks that isn't the Oakland. But here are a few pics of what I tackled last night. Nothing big, just something fun.

I see that can of Kroil.. That stuff is great. That and a little heat, I haven't broken a fastener since

I use bees wax and heat alot. Its awesome!. As for the Kroil. I used it to lube the T-bar adjusters. I had to remove the bars, I wanted to count the turns and the kroil made turning them a bunch easier!

The next quick project is here. I'm pulling the drive train. The engine is set to get rebuilt, the rear diff is getting a gear change and when they return to be installed I will be installing a new wire harness at the same time. This ol' girl will only be here for a few days. After I pull the drive train it will be loaded up and taken back to the owners place while the mechanicals are sorted out.

This car by far is my favorite! If I could have just one of his cars I would take this one in a heart beat. Hands down my favorite!!!

The diff, trans, and engine are out. We decided to pull the headlamps, and related parts so they can be rechromed before reassembly. I also pulled all of the gauges so they can be refurbished at the same time. When she returns for reassembly this fall I will be installing a new wire harness and new springs.

That's a funny looking trans.. Is that a PTO hanging off of the side? If so, was that sort of thing standard in cars like these? I know things like Model Ts were used as everything from transportation to tractors to stationary power plants, but this car seems to have too much style for that sort of thing.. It's not a truck.. It's a Poncho, right?

The technology improvements to the engine & trans are obvious, but the diffs are pretty much what they were 100 years ago. :hmmm:

Well what have I been working on mainly the last month or two...other then a few odd projects on the crewcab, we have decided as a family that we are going to pull up roots and move. We are moving to Prince George BC....about 725 km one way from where I live now. I have found a new job up there already, will be hauling fuel. And we have been scrambling to get the house and property cleaned up so we can get it up for sale.

Today was my last day with the company I have been with for almost 12 years....:( So next week I start training and certification at my new job, here locally...takes about 3 weeks...then I will move up to PG full time at the beginning of June and live in my parents old class C motor home. Family to follow beginning of July after kids are done school...hope to have a house before then as well.

We are looking for acreage up there, and a more laid back life style in the country. And as well, my wife's brother and his family are up there as well.

So you going to get a hold of a full size car hauler to move all your vehicles? Hope you get a good dollar for your house where you live to buy in the more economical area of PG.

Good luck with the new job and hope you find the home that you really want. I hope it comes with a double garage and a shop for all your projects to have room for.

Nice part of the country there.

...But plenty of rough people. Take extra measures to ensure your family's security.

Curious: Where do you live now?

Dusterman - Yeah that is a "want" for sure on the new house and property...big shop for me and my toys. One house we are looking at has a 40x60 shop!
The logistics of moving everything up there is a tad daunting....especially all my hoarding of parts! Going to be a lot of miles put on old patches....;)

Restoman - Yeah we love it up there. Very excited about actually having 4 seasons again! And a nice long winter...since we are not the lovers of heat at all. ;)

Not a duster - We currently live in Abbotsford BC, and houses are selling in under a week, and are generally going for WAY MORE then asking price. There are bidding wars on pretty much every house that goes up for sale! Sellers are seeing anywhere for $25K-$200K+ over asking! This was one of the major reasons we decided to finally make this move, and lifestyle change. ;)

I have been going to PG for well over a decade...never really had any issue with teh people up there....in fact I find them better then the populace down where I live now. ;) But regardless I will be evoking my right the bear arms, or the right to arm bears...what ever the heck you want to do. ....Ahhh a Robin Williams classic. :D

I hate moving. :(

Ya gotta keep focused on the end result. I've found that, if it's possible, take your time and as you bring stuff in, locate its' final place before bringing more. It seems if you don't sort and put stuff away you'll never get to it later.

Last few days have been crazy....getting the house ready for listing. Been running loads to dump/recycling, and all the little last minute details. Been up to 1am most nights working on stuff.Had the moving container taken out today, For sale sign went up, met with realtor to discuss listing price, photos and virtual tour done of the house. Now we have a couple days to kind of relax before getting the house ready for the open house on Saturday.
