1928.....................

Cadillac?

Those wooden wheels and drum headlights got me thinking... I know Caddy had similar headlights but I didn't think they kept the artillery wheels that late...?

That smooth front fender makes me think expensive, and the Delco-Remy says GM..

You are on it Resto. It's Not G.M. but close. Think predecessor to Pontiac. In fact, the engine paint color is Pontiac green.

Yep! We have a winner! P.M. me your address and I'll send you something nice. ;)

This car has never been out of this small coummunity. It was sold new from the Oakland dealer in Norway Michigain. That dealer was became a Pontiac dealer and was still in business well into the 90's. It has been in storage sence about '84. The guy who owns it bought it from the original owner the year I was born. 1972.

Would you believe it has around 75,000 miles on it? I wonder how many valve jobs it's had!

It is super rair and hard to find parts for. He has had cast irin parts like the bumper brackets casted in foundrys. Guys in the Okland historical club have helped him with that by removing parts from their cars and shipping them here so Mark can have them sand casted. he had to have valves custom made. He had a 2nd set made and shipped them to the guy who lent him parts to return the favor to get parts casted. The club is doing a wright up on the restoration as we go.

Guess my skills are going to be put to the test and scrutinized by all in the club. :D Hope I'm up to the task.

LaFreniere Pontiac, at the time of its closing, was the oldest operating Pontiac dealership in existence, dating back prior to Pontiac's introduction in 1926. Unfortunately, the last owner ran it into the ground by tripping over dollars to pick up pennies. I guess it wouldn't have mattered in the end, anyhow, but it was pretty cool to have that distinction locally.

Oakland... I guessed it without Wiki... do I get a prize?

I'd be truly stoked to be working on something like that. They're only original once and working on something like that is almost like a trip down memory lane, wondering where it's been, who built it, how they built it, who worked on it...
If you're a true car guy, it's a feeling like no other.

What's the plan for it? Drive it as is (which is what I would do if it were mine), full resto or something in between?

You're a lucky guy and I'm jealous as Hell. :)

Hes restoring it using as many original parts as possible. Not going to detail the chassie. Just clean that up. He is looking for some one to do some body work and paint it it's original color. It was painted black some time ago. It was green originally. I think the fenders were black originally.

There is some damage to the left front fender. I'll post pics later.

Are you intrested in doing the body work Resto? Hes looking.
