Well I finally did something the easy way, (paid someone else to do it!) :dgt:
Got the frame back today, nice, only 2 pinholes came through & the pitting wasn't bad. She's por 15'd on the side that faces the hood, hopefully a coat on the other side tomorrow & I can put it back together & start the blockin process AGAIN!

Glad my only rusty toy is my jeep. keep up the good work

Started weldin the hood back together yesterday got one side done & went out for a break. Way too nice out there to waste it in the garage, the weldin I can do anytime:doubt: , so I finished cleaning the tranny, started on the engine, got a coat a por 15 on it & called it a night.
Today I put the first coat of eng paint, needs a second, but a tad better than black & rust!
A little imagination is still needed, picture new valve covers & a stripped & painted blue oil pan!;) Rich.

I was thinkin black for that, not lookin for correct, just detailed! All blue........... well thats just all blue! Still gotta paint all the bolt heads black! :D Rich.

Tranny be blasted, aluminum blast that is(thanks 68) . I did however buy too much, 12oz sounded kinda small & if ya buy 3 the're a tad cheaper, well I bought 3 & after two good coats there's still a good amount left in the first can, I gets the feelin a few more parts(correct or not) will be painted this color! ;)

You'll have to put your own drain plug in Rusty. Apparently. Chrysler dosen't want us to change our trans fluid.:D

Gonna hafta go aftermarket on that, missed one last week on ebay, chrome w/plug went for 34 bucks! see some deeper lookin black ones in peoples pics, just gotta find a supplier! Rich.

I've heard chrome is bad. The chrome helps retain heat and I'm sure everyone knows that's bad for transmissions ;) I would take the stock one and install your own drain plug.

Never got around to doin a search, just happened to see the other one, guess i'll get one sooner than I thought! Thanks Jo, nice to see ya around again! Rich.

If ground clearance isnt going to be tight install one from a 518. Same bolt pattern but a lot deeper. Either way you are doing a super clean job thats for sure.

Too late, got e gouged last night, chrome, but deeper & with a drain plug!:doubt: Rich.
thanks for forcing my hand Jo, woulda watched 20 of em go by, the other one went for 22 + 12 shipping, the BIN one I got was 20 + 8 so I figgered why dick around! Rich.

Well you will need to grind the chrome plate off the mating surface for the gasket to have something to bite into or its leak city.
