Rusty's not very quiet cuda progress

Don, bring em with ya on the 11th, something we can do in the garage if it's real hot out!
Got some more crap cleaned up>...........

Got some of the pass side suspension hung, painting weather is comming in, hopefully I can get the hood & trunk lid painted before the 11th, then we can hang em & start wet sanding all the crap outta the clear for another try! [smilie=e:

well i thought I was gonna paint today, yea right, [smilie=e:
Sanded the back of the trunk lid, still needs more , top is ok I think, cleaned up the top of the hood, looks good, flipped her over to clean up the back & thats when the murph made his appearence! More bubbles, started with the scraper, moved on to the grinder & finally to the cutting wheel, seems where ever the metal is sandwhiched together there's rust between, bleeding through the thin metal!
might have to move on to the back up hood, got a thousand hours in on this hood already & I fear even if I fix this spot, which will be a real challenge, it will crop up elsewhere! [smilie=e:
Ruined what started out as a good day for me! [smilie=e: Rich.

Holy crap!!!!! You just can't seem to get ahead of that stuff! Have you considered buying a fiberglass hood? or just buying a fiberglass car? [smilie=e:

Wouldn't mind a 65 or so fastback, but what fun would that be, shoula moved on to the backup after the bubbles on the top, bottom was lookin good last fall, Just to start all over now will set things back another month or 2, I'd like to dip & E-COAT the backup, but don't have 4 or 500 to blow away right now!
I'll never dip another part without ecoat again!

Made a RASH decision today,a old friend came over in his vette, started telling me how lucky I was, I had 2 of his favorite cars, i said wanna trade! he didn't even let me get through the list of problems & said lets do it, so he has 1 3/4 cudas in some shape or form, a few extrs parts & I have a decent vette, it's far from perfect, toy with this awhile & then try & trade it for a less rusty cuda! [smilie=e:
It's even the right color(for me that is) [smilie=e: Rich.

I seriously hope that's supposed to be a joke.......

I have not been able to log on to corvettenuts, and plasticarnuts is not a valid domain name.....

Thats a '63 by looking at the hood grates and the side indents behind the front wheels. My dad had one a few years back. I can't tell from the pic but if the split window is missing thats beacuse it was a common mod way back when to cut out the center post and swap the rear window with one from a 64-67. That was usually done to improve visibility.

Now what I'm really thinking.... you didn't just do what I think you did [smilie=2:

See what you did. Now why'd you have to go and put that idea in his head!?

K, enough with the toys, back to real life UUGH!
Well staying clear of the murph for a while is my main goal so I spent one day cleaning up the exhaust & bout an hour the next gettin some paint on it!
Didn't even spill the paint! Ha ha Mr murphy! [smilie=k:

So after charger man brought back my welder I decided it was time to try & fix that bowed out fender, well lets just say it's a lot closer now, a bit worse off for the wear(couple a dings & newly created high spots, chips I don't even want to count up yet, enough shock for one day)
Had to cut the brace 5 times to get it flat in the right places! I got some weldin to do!:doubt:
so first I did my magic act of being in two places at once to get the doors adjusted, interesting job alone! then I tore into the fender!:wtf:
