Forced myself to start on the speedo problem, jacked up the back & got just enough room to get under & loosen the cable at the tranny, could not get either one of my drills to catch the cable, after hunting around & trying to find a way to grab it I finally got a small pointy vice grip on it, turning but hand I got a couple of tiny blips out of the speedo, my bigger drill was able to get on the vice grip, I closed my eyes & prayed that it wouldn't fly out of my hands when I triggered the drill, to my surprise it ran rather smoothly! whew, dodged a bullet there. Butttttt nothing at the speedo.
So somehow I wormed my old body under there & again to my surprise I got my hand all the way up the cable, now something did feel loose , when I shook the cable last time nothing moved at the connection.
Finally got it off & found this
Now with it out the cable slides both ways pretty easy
when I pushed it back in a ton more stuck out at the bottom, that I could have gotten the drill on!
SO I'm hoping & praying I didn't break that right now & it was the problem all along, did not see any chunks of plastic in the car!
The first thing I looked at was the tranny fitting, to me it sure looks round I hope that's not bad too?
hard to get a close up tranny linkage in the way, I zoomed on a couple?
