Finally got out of the house, started with the haunted car, I used permatex on the gas lines, my mechanic thought it would be ok?
Well the bigger fittings leaked first, we snugged those down & it was good a while, then when I checked they were all leaking, so the hunt started for the proper thread sealer!
First I found a small can of "Gasoila" 65 crazy dollars, said to myself, self no way for 4 fittings, continued looking for anything out there that said good for gas, no one says it, every other substance on earth but not GAS!
Got lucky & stumbled upon a 2 oz tube of gasoila for 6 or 7 bucks, I bought the darn thing!!
So the regulator may be another new part that's bad, Range is supposed to be 4 to 9 PSI
First time out I did get it adjusted to 4, then buy itself it dropped to 3.
I now have the adjustment screw almost buried & got it barley over 3
So I fire it up, started up ok, had to play with the pedal a little to keep it running, pretty good cloud of gray smoke out the pipes for a while, it was warm & humid out?
Reved the engine a few time & the pressure actually goes down a slight bit, but it seemed to be enough to keep the RPM's up?
After that the smoke cleared, still stunk pretty good but better than a black diesel cloud coming out.
I think on the running rich thing I may be at a point that's close enough to not damage the rings, there was no smell of gas in the crankcase oil.
Will get it back to my mechanic & see if he can fine tune it a little more, maybe just maybe I can drive this darn thing around a bit next spring!
Had a video too big to upload, I'll see if I can you tube it & post a link?
