Rusty's not very quiet cuda progress

Well since I like the smell of vicks anyway it will be worth a try!!
For the following reason!

My son had it back in the beginning, when it was worse & we didn't get it that time.

Only second dose this am, no bad taste yet, but wife & others mentioned that.
So far for me it's the cough, last night 2 1/2 hours of it, finally got to sleep around 2:30 or so.
Feels like a couple of fuzzies on a thread have been super glued to my air ways impossible to cough out!
Bad enough that the first cough this am hurt my stomach hurt.
Fever has not come back, not sure if the Tylenol is controlling that or it's just gone.
So far those are the only symptoms & I don't feel bad at all, just hurts when I cough now!

Well that had to be the weirdest home remedy I ever tried, I can't vouch for the results, when I first laid down I was thinking it was working, breathing nicely with no fuzzies floating around to annoy.
after a few minuets it started, finally gave in & coughed a bit, but it was much better I actually cleared the fuzzies pretty quick, happened a few times over the first hour & then I fell asleep, woke up for the ole bathroom trip & coughed a bit, but again cleared right out.
Soooooooooo, not knowing if my symptoms are changing or the super vapo treatment was doing it I may give it another try tonight.
Either way I had a much better night!

Your doctorate is expanding from cars to grandma's home remedies!

So I went the opposite route, instead of making a big mess I just went to bed, pretty much the same results, I did use the vicks on the chest & in the nostrils.
So I can't vouch for the remedy, covid may be too tough for it?
If you were pranking me, all is good I had to chuckle when I was slopping it on that night!

Wife tested negative today, for me it's just the cough that persists.
50* today I'm going out back to get some fresh air for a while, gotta get out of the house!

I feel great!!!!, no it's not over yet but I got outside for a couple of hours, started up the ole PU that's been sitting for about a month, no problem there & I actually did something on the car, nothing big, but it just felt good to do anything.
I stuck in the ash try, repainted the glove box door (AGAIN) & stuck on what I had of the lower dash trim, where the thin piece is broken off it kinda blends right into the A/C duct, I may give in here & call it good enough?

I dunno, you said you slept a lot better that night than you had the previous. I'd call that a win and a vouch. Vicks has never worked for me for coughing in any other way. Great for congestion, but nada for endless hacking.

Glad to see you're feeling better.

Just tested negative, 2 more doses left of the med, still coughing.
Never got the bad taste thing, or the headaches & sore throat the wife got.
I day of fever, so I guess I had a mild case, still I could very well have lived without it!

More parts elude me, seems I have 2 the same side door pulls, I was white & the other blue, so where be my other one off this car?
Looking em over I think if I have to I can do a surgery & just make another set of holes for the lock lever? 20240127_153645.jpgSo I started tossing little things I have accumulated on the shelves, finally pulled down a set of orig door panels I bought off ebay & never used, he pass side is in pretty god shape, drivers flaked & scratched up, next to come down will be the broken console, again of mystery origins, the one from this car was already trashed.
Hate to just toss this stuff, but it is now useless to me? 20240127_153844.jpgSo I ended up taking that glove box door back to primer, painted it again today & it came out crappy again, I may just say F it, I must have done it 5 or 6 times, just does not want to cooperate!

Any petty fans out there, the big one is a little beat up but the small ones (I have 2) are in pretty good shape.20240129_150957.jpgStill digging around 50 years of accumulated crap, at least I'm starting to see some empty spaces here & there!
Ran across this, pretty sure from cuda/challenger,com20240129_151313.jpg Guess I have to keep that one the 1st 'Cuda is immortalized on it! 20240129_151323.jpg

I may have a spare set of door pulls. Are those mounted directly to the door, or are they on the door panel? I can't remember at the moment, but I thought they were on the panels. I got a couple of sets of hacked-up panels with my car, and I believe I scavenged the armrests and pulls from them. I'll have to look. I think I even know where they are!

You've definitely got to keep a poster with your car on it, even if you don't have it anymore.

That Vanishing Point poster is pretty cool.

OK vanishing point poster in Jass's box, so far I have the quarter window rubbers, the ignition switch (if mine works) 2 upper control arm bushings, 1 upper ball joint, a ton of gaskets including A/C heater box firewall kit, door handle & rally mirror gaskets & a bunch of other ones from all over the car.
Upper door hinge pins & a few of the brass bushings.
That list is all new stuff that was not used.
A bunch of other stuff I can't think of at the moment!

Let me know if you find the pull, save me from major surgery!

Looks like the pulls screw down through a bracket & right into the door frame. 20240130_141058.jpg
Arm rest goes to the outer 2 holes & I think the door panel might be sandwiched in there too, the inside edge has 2 screws through the door panel.

Anybody know where this goes, it's brown in color? 20240130_152100.jpg
clean out continued, getting a bucket full of metal parts & did a full trash bag of plastic & rubber parts, many part used cans of paint & various chemicals.20240130_153433.jpgtop shelf is no longer packed up to the rafters! 20240130_153602.jpg

Still putzing around the garage, went through the interior box to get the hardware ready for headliner & trim day, noticed many different sized screws in the bags, so I decided to go thru the extra screw bag & clean up any of those type screws in there so maybe when I put the trim on I'll have the right screws???
Also noticed I don't have or missed my door panel bag.
While doing that I found 4 screws that look like the ones that go through the door pulls & mount the panel to the door, so I got those painted, now I have to locate the ones that screw in the front & back of the panel, the mysteries never end! 20240201_164520.jpg

Problem is I'm running out of little things to putz with in the garage a long way before the winter will fade into memory!

Dug around the spare screws & pulled out a bunch that should work for the door panels & got those cleaned & painted.
then went through the engine bay box again & pulled out the leftover battery hold down parts I had laying around, see if I can get em "good enough" before I buy a new set?20240202_164105.jpg

For a B body the correct ones would be the ones with the round J hooks. I wouldn't know what the E bodies used, possibly the flattened J hooks. 🤔

Got those parts painted up & continued on the cleanout quest.
Had boxes of model plane stuff sitting around for 40 years, was learning to fly & the guy teaching me moved away, I started my business & the planes sat in my basement, tossed a couple but kept a P40, flying tiger model, it's built but not painted, too warped to fly after all these years, but might be a project after the car is done to paint up & hang from the rafters in the garage!
Gonna try & ebay bay the radio & 1 out of 3 motors I had, 2 were never even used, could only turn the big one by hand, so I trashed the other 2 & will see if any interest on ebay for the bigger one?
the good motor & a bunch of glow plugs. 20240203_160520.jpg
The kraft radio20240203_161006.jpg& if you move enough stuff around lost things do pop up now & then.
The missing piece of the lower dash trim, not all there & there's no screw holes in this section I'll hold it up, see what it looks like & if it helps I'll drill some mounting holes in the dash frame?20240203_161529.jpg

That controller was state of the art at the time no doubt but now it looks like Fred Flintstone's toy.

Put it on ebay starting at 25, see if any old timers out there want to reminisce, same with the motor, there were a couple that sold maybe I'll get lucky & make a few bucks instead of just trashing stuff I should have cleaned out a long time ago?

working the interior panels again, when I was moving them around I noticed the rustolium clear was marking up pretty easy, not gonna cut it on these panels.
So I ordered some sem trim paint (supposed to be tougher?) & clear with hardener .20240205_150635.jpgHit them all with 600 to rough up the clear & knock down some of the imperfections.20240205_144133.jpg
The black went on nice used a can & 1/4 for 2 coats20240205_152342.jpg20240205_150652.jpgso I'm thinking if I don't screw up the clear these will be nice!
Well not sure about that yet, blew through the 2 cans of clear & barley made it to 2 coats, a lot of spots look a bit light, will see when they dry20240205_154823.jpg
