Rusty's not very quiet cuda progress

Looks like it won't reach 40* here till the 23rd, I'm going stir crazy!!!
At 40 I can at least get the garage up to 55 or so & putz around in there.

When I had my garage built, 2x6 walls stuffed with insulation and a couple feet in the trusses.
An 800w heater keeps it toasty.

Mines raw, 2x4 walls, when I built it many years ago it was a kit job, texture 111, then I had it sided bout 10 years ago, I think they put something of a wrap on the outside, being detached it didn't help much. I thought about doing it when I took out the sheet metal shop, but there was so much stuff to move & shelving to rebuild I passed, at that point I had the train room, don't really have that much to do for the car in there, but it gets me out of the house a while.

Remember one time I put an orange juice container on the steps (inside) came back 5 minuets later & there was a layer of ice on top!
Don't miss those days at all!

Time is not on my side, I was finally going to venture out & get a haircut today that was put off for a few weeks now because we were all sick, finally feeling better myself I figured it was long over due & long over my ears! Need a few Items at the hardware store too, which is right near the barber.
Wake up to find the wifey laid out on the couch, she got covid, now we have avoided this for what 4 years now, all my kids have had it even the one that lives here, now she's one of the few people I know that still masks up, when she shops she wipes everything that comes into the house down with disinfectant wipes.
At this point I'm just so sick of this , but I will stay home till we are clear, don't want to pass it on.
Oh yea, she also dragged me with her to get all the updates on the shots too, big help they were!

Day 2, I'm still ok, it will probably get me when she starts to feel better.
I picked up that new med last night, that was interesting, the ready call said 533 bucks, when the girl got to the register she kept looking at the bag, then the computer, finally walked over to the pharmacist, she started to tap away on her computer, we chatted a bit while she worked, mostly complaining what happened to my insurance. after a while she handed the bag back to the other girl, went to the computer & I asked how much did I save, no answer, then she printed out the receipt, still saying nothing, handed me the receipt & to my pleasant surprise, nothing but zeros on it!
So I thanked her, went back over to the pharmacist thanked Her & ran out the door before they changed their minds!

that new med
Those huge nasty Covid pills? Paxlovid?

Both me and Gina were sick last year. I took it, she didn't. It was rough for her, not for me so it filled the bill. We were still in the phase where insurance was paying for anything and everything Covid so it was free. Not so much anymore. I'm glad yours was.

Yeesh wait until the bad taste in your wife's mouth sets in though.

Ya, she called them horse pills.
Day 3, I'm still ok, she's hoping the fevers have stopped (a few hours now) but the body & headaches are still there, the nose & the nasty cough still annoy!
She wants to order some food with a strong taste, so maybe she can taste it!

I'd forgotten about that symptom.

We were all sick at Christmas but it never turned really bad so we just hung in there. At least one person had a + test but I don't trust those things anyway.

Once your wife gets it, you are going to catch it too. Ditto wife from husband.

Now the question is do you try to tough it out or go straight to Paxlovid.

Yesterday wasn't too bad, fever up to 102 at one point, coughing, which then caused he nose to run all day & for the first few hours not letting me sleep, eased off as the night went on, Tylenol cut the fever down, woke up with no fever, coughing eased quite a bit & normal temp.
Right now I don't feel bad at all, paxlovoid is being delivered later today, not sure I want to stick more of their chemicals into my body, wifeys pushing me to take it, see how the day goes???

So I took the new med, wife said the symptoms came & went with her, today was proof, the coughing (which she said the med helped) came back on her.
no real fever today, coughing once in a while, otherwise I don't really feel bad at all.
See how it goes when I lay down to sleep, that's usually when the coughing is worst?

Stretch's wife had it, with pretty strong symptoms. Neither he nor either of their kids got it.

Before you go to bed, find some nice heavy socks and apply Vicks Vap-O-Rub liberally to the bottoms of your feet. I mean slop it on there, then put on the socks. You'll sleep like a baby with no coughing. Why? I have no idea, but it absolutely works.
