A12 - time to get busy

You didn't make the mistake of saying, "I'm not in a hurry" did you? Because that's license to leave it on the back burner as far as they're concerned.

No, I know better than that. But they're going to do whatever they're going to do either way.

I got a reply from them that I'm next after the Mustang they're finishing up.

This is why I hesitated for 10 years to send it away to be fixed.

Hope they are not blowing smoke and get to your car next!

When I was restoring my coronet he finally finished all the body work and paint then his business went into receivership due to a bad divorce. My car was locked up in that shop for months while I jumped through all the legal hoops to be allowed access to the shop to get my car and parts out. My car was the last finished car to get out of the shop...felt bad for all the other people who's cars were in various states of restoration.

I'm glad you got your car back.

I don't know what's going on day-to-day, and maybe they're just posting pictures on FB in random order to get attention, but yesterday they were starting work on an old F150 (IIRC). Maybe it's just a small job, maybe they don't need a skilled guy to do the work it needs, maybe they did it two years ago.

I thought I'd get some attention with the owner being from a long-term Mopar family, but I might have been wrong. He was talking about some nutty things TBH - like replacing my steering column with an aftermarket job saying the factory unit is dangerous. Dude ... if I crash that car that hard then I deserve to get hurt.

It kind of seemed like he's got "resto-mod" on the brain. I have no interest in anything like that, day 2 yes, but day 2 1969 only please.

you guys know me..some things deserve to be restored some things modded..but theres neerly always somewhere in the middle thats happy too

my 58 ford shall be forever "era correct" to which is a resto mod still of sorts .....and i love me a good chassis swap..if i was doing a B body id likely drop it on a newwer charger chassis but id have to retain the stock B body dash n gut....IMO theres a point in "resto mod" where you go to new and RUIN what you have....like using modern dash, ultra low profile tires n such...

and your B with as hackeed as it is is a great boarderline..on one hand its rare on the other it was a hacked mess..toss of the coin id go either way with it personaly

.. and now they're tearing down a pink D100

IME restoration shops all work on a "my buddies come first" basis and only an idiot thinks otherwise. It makes no difference if it's local or nationally known. It's the nature of them.

He said it would take a year, so I expect work to start in November. Would have said December but they need to allow time for the paint to cure. It will be in paint by New Year's day 2024.

I need to take a trip up there.

It's still going on

CSG Customs & Collisions
on Monday
The 1964.5 Mustang is officially out of the blast booth and ready to go the other direction!

Four months waiting and I swear it seems like I'm going backward. I guess it's my fault because I never got a list of what was in front of me.

I'm off next Monday and am liable to drive up there. If nothing else I want to know my car hasn't been pushed outside. I told them insurance wouldn't play that so it had to stay inside.

They took the doors and fenders off and cut the PS quarter off then blasted it about half in that photo, Once the metal is in it, it can go on the rotisserie. At least I think that's the way it will go.

This is them
CSG Customs & Collisions

They turn out some good looking work. They were doing collision but the last time I talked to them they were getting out of that and doing straight resto/restomod. As long as they can get work, more power to them.
