What are you working on?

I should clarify. I just have a mid lift. I had the car just far enough off of the ground to slide under it on my side on a creeper. I have been lifting this car on that lift for months. I set it down when I'm done working on it for the day because it flexes and the body structure is wood and its a roadster so it moves. For what ever reason I got carless and didn't check the lift points this time. The problem. Started with wheel doilies. I set the car on them when the hoist is down because i used them to locate the car over the lift. I check it every time I lift it except that one time. I lifed it. Layed down on the creeper and slid under. I rolled to my side so I could reach the fitting for the fuel gauge. On the top of rhe tank. Thats when I hraabed the leaf spring to pull myself a bit to the side. I didn't move. I did however pull the car off of the lift and onto my sholder. I was pinched between the fuel tank and creeper. I rolled over and slid out. Collected my thoughts and went un the house.

Some more progress pictures. The first one is of the fuel gauge with the fluid in it. There are a few of me rebuilding and painting the drive shaft and the rest are pretty much self explanatory. I did get the water jacket cover back on. I stuffer a bunch of sealant in the bolt holes and even more in the ones with the helicoils. I'm going to let it set up over night. If it holds coolant when I fill it tomorrow I should be ready to fire it if the electrical system is good to go after I hook it to the battery for the first time.

o.0 light sensitive?

after watching a brand new burban (1995/6) in for its very first oil change get bounced off a lift TOTALING it while having zero body damage, that i was dangling of the front of to keep it from crashing out the door and to the floor while working for tire station.....i learned a valuable lesson bounce check low and re-check every time you go back to work if it sits on a lift long term
said burban had a crushed and bent frame, dented tank severed wiring, crushed AC lines, fuel lines, brake lines,, the frame was turned from a C to an L in atleast 3 places, and the fuel tank was also mangled and lightly leacking, some cross member damage as well.... and the old man doing the job wasnt even repremanded.....i sure got the ass chewing of a life time tho "next time just let it fall"

i had a scare where a soob tried to jump off my own lift too tho it was totaly slow motion and easily stopped...its all made me very religiously check my lift points on the car as much as the stability on the lift, i do NOT trust the "flip up" feet either...much safer using wood blocks on the "arms" with a stud nub taht sits in the flip up feet holes
FWIW I remember being at in the Sears auto center, working on other side of the garage and the boss man came through raising each of the lifts for use to sweep under them. There was a minivan on one, and the pads weren't set. The lift caught it at the rockers and stood it on it's nose. I'd worked on several gas stations and tire shops and never saw a car come off the lift until I started working at Sears, and it seemed like about a once a month thing there.

I finally got around to doing the floor in the basement hallway.

Almost done. I’ve just got one section of floor in the closet, the stairs, and then reinstall the trim.

It took forever because the instructions were a bit misleading AND I wanted to do a herringbone type thing to turn the corner. That forced me to trim and glue the pieces at the turn, and made things go in backwards. So, instead of click-snap install, I had to tap-tap-tappety almost every plank. Fortunately, the plank I bought is designed for both types of installation.

I put insulated dri-core down first. The flooring is vinyl with a hardwood layer and a wear layer on top.

Those planks on the left are the bathroom that I did a while back. I installed moulding in today to cover the gap. No pics of that yet.

i know youve got a midlift..so do i

whats the bike on the lift, it looks like z50 sized cant tell if thats the lift scaling it down or not

50cc 4spd so ima assume its a flat motor? ie a honda 50 clone with 4 gear instead of 3, dont think im dissin the clone, since the honda 50 has been cloned so hard most parts have been improved so much that some of the clone stuff is better hell even 5 and 6spd trans and big bores up into the 200cc

heres one ill get back to eventualy, engines NOT honda(125 4spd), but neerly everything else is even if its from various other honda sizes save for the wheelsIMAG1754.jpg

tossed together a USB charging unit for my wifes 07 yaris..love the car to death..honestly its like driving a modernized 70s corolla...alot of spunk in a lil package of fun, with a V belt, manual everything even the windows, and a timeing CHAIN!!!!!...seriously love the car, but the cig light position SUCKED, and cig usb chargers suck worse...the 42mpg is also impossible to argue with, wish it were a manual tho......and so does she..but getting a manual would have ment waiting 6-8 months when she got it new...she also wanted the RS package but ill get it for her bit by bit

with us needing to work but on our own schedual due to my head injury doing odd things at odd hours at random stretched, and her carattid artery discetion which tends to wreck havok at random too...punching a clock is an impossibility....as we can be good for weeks or be down for 10hours or 4 -5 days being unsafe to do much .....

amazon flex is actualy fun..flexable and us tag teaming it just makes it more fun...but we promptly found the need for 3-4 devices to handle wifi, offline maps, etc as we keep getting sent into the boonys..however our last 3 jobs got cancled and we were PAID IN FULL for them anyway...nothing like getting payed 300$ for just selecting a job

i have no idea what goes in those 3 dummy plugs but i removed them and made ABS plugs, mostly cause the nylonish stuff would have sucked to work with..its all removeable and capable of being undone back to OE

ive also been working on a wreck...
an 04 honda pilot....they hit a deer in the desert and drove home...lots of deer chunks, rotting in the engine bay..strips of flesh n fur, blood n guts, actualy SHIT on the site of the rig and behind the headlight..honestly.WORST JOB EVER..took me a full week to get all the nasty out n off

had to do some core support tweaking, as well as some braces but some how this lil bastard managed to not even ding the hood or fender, but totaled the passenger light, grill, bumper, and so on, i was told its head flew off and bounced off the A pillar...i spotted the dents, it also crushed the AC and rad, both still sealed but tacoed...i managed to straighten the ac without issue..the rad had to be replaced

ive got a bumper on the stand along with headlight eyebrowns and grill surround setting up in the shop right now with the 3rd coat of clear about to go down...should be sending it out the door friday

best guess is it was just big enough to take out most of the nose of the van but just young enough to not total it...i never saw it i just had to clean it up and fix it and was told by owner and co driver

your log trucks aint much different than mine, they just sit a lil taller and haul the logs weird..but i guess your trees are alot smaller LOL

I spend a lot of time on the trails with my buddies in our side by sides. Rain, snow, dust, dirt, mud, nothing stops us. Not having a windshield wiper does hamper vision at times. I need a wiper washer set up but I am un willing to drop $650.00 for the Can-Am assembly. Nor am I willing to drop $300.00+ for a aftermarket setup that may or may not be junk and require a bunch of fabracobbling to make it work.

Off to the salvage yard! It turns out the rear wiper motor from a Ford Escape fits the bill nicely. It has about 170 degrees of sweep, it mounts to the glass and has plastic covers that add to the fit and finish appeal. I got mine for a total of $30.00. That included the wiring and the back glass that I tossed right in the trash.

Next it was onto finding a wiper arm and blade. The Escape arm and blade are way to short. As it turns out after much searching on my own with little success Jass suggested a late modle wrangler arm. That with a 13" blade fits perfectly.

On to the washer side. Jass had a washer tank and pump laying around, literally. ( It was on his garage floor 😄) I am building a bracket for it. I used a clip on spray nossel for the washer.

The only Can-am part is the wiper washer switch. That cost damn near as much as the motor! $28.00 But I wanted one switch that would run the wiper and washer. And I wanted it to fit the stock location and match the rest of the switches.

So I have less than $80.00 in this entire project including wiring, a relay, a water resistant relay connector, and a circuit breaker.

A few pictures if you are interested.

so..since ive been doing alot of deep thought on the lloyd and your post kinda prodded something ive been pondering...youll have to keep me posted on its sucsess over the winter, as wipers is one of those things i still need to add but i want a solid compact unit that parks

i HATE doing body work on ABS plastic....cure times are slow, and at any point things may argue with you down to bare plastic

Yup.
Most times, bodyshop guys call it dirty plastic: It's tough to get adhesion, whether you're repairing, bonding, filling or priming to it. The best adhesion promoters in the world don't work all the time... :(

A rat or squirrel chewed up the wiring harness to a coil pack in my commuter. A 10th gen Civic. Apparently, the new wires are soy based and rodents love to munch them.

Honda only sells the engine harness for way too much, and my comprehensive insurance deductible is $500. F that. I de-pinned the connectors, since the wires were chewed too close to do anything with them. Soldered some jumpers, and unwrapped the harness to find something to solder the jumpers to.

Temporary fix, have new connectors and pins coming, to crimp on new wires and cobble them to the harness. Works fine for now.
