Also tweaked my cylinder heads and did some fancy logo removal to screw with people

Hardwood floors! They are cut to fit and screwed down. I have them marked out for biscuit joints. Next step is to disassemble the floor cut the biscuit joints. then glue and reassemble one last time.

I haven't updated in some time but I have been working on the Oakland. I told myself I wouldn't work on my Valiant or Pierre's Valiant until I'm done with the wood. I'm itching to work on both Plymouths but I have a deadline on the Oakland. I finished the golf club door and frame and built the rumble seat lid is done. I have hit a road block. We don't have the pivot mounts for the seat. Without those I can't test fit the lid. With out being able to test fit the lid I cant build the rest of the floor. I don't know how much clearance I have through the swing. I dont have original floor to copy. It has long ago rotted away. Where are we going to find mounts you ask? Well, Mark has a 1930 Oakland that has the parts. We are going to remove those castings and have the reproduced.

Your woodworking skills amaze me every time I see your updates. Well done Stretch.

I spent the morning moving 8 1/2 inches of snow then I spent the afternoon making and fitting up the rear wood panels. Now on to the last piece of the floor. I also started making the seat spring frames.

Here are some pics for you 68RT.

You can't really grasp how large the Oakland is until you see it next to the Valiant. :eek2:

I haven't up dated in a while. The permanent assembly has begun. My laptop failed a recent durability test (I dropped it) so I need to get pictures transferred from my phone and my camera to this new laptop. Once I figure that out and find a photo editor I like that works with windows 10 (which I don't like) I'll post some up.

start by burning the machine back down to windows 7 you will thank me later

Trust me , I'd love to but Chrissie and I are sharing this Laptop and she has a couple of programs she needs that require windows 10 so I'm stuck with getting used to it.

Some update pictures. The final assemble has begun and is almost done. All I have left is to finish varnishing the wood in the pictures that is lighter in color. Build the separating wall between the front seat and the rumble seat area. then finish building the seat base and back.

What a productive weekend! Saturday I made the last piece of the body structure and assembled it for the last time. Sunday I varnished the remaining unvarnished parts. The wood part of the project is officially done. Now I need to strip the paint off of the steering column and box assembly, rebuild it paint it, and Install it. After that it's off to the body shop for final body assembly and paint.

Nice to see you back online again Stretch. It's been really quiet for quite a while.

Thank you. I wish this sight was jumping like it was before FB. When I was without a laptop I had been stopping in on my phone. Navigating the sight is less than enjoyable on a phone as it turns out. :D

Your last set of pic links are not working. Been following the work you have been doing and it is very impressive. Cuddos to your wife and 2 kids for allowing you the time to show how much of a dedicated craftsman you truly are. There is a limited number of people that could pull off what you have been doing and still have some sembalance of a family life. :bravo:

I'll repost them. Thank you for the kind words. I am blessed in many ways. For the most part, I only work on it on weekends and in the winter. Summer is spent camping and fishing on Lake Michigan with the family.

Been working on this bead roller.
The motor caught fire so waiting on a replacement motor now. *cursing ebay deal* 20181115_104612.jpg

Also doing some english wheel anvils.
I picked up a harbour freight frame, with the top wheel from the local classifieds for 50 bucks. Did not come with the lower anvils.
So fired up the lathe and got me to working. Making from some spare d2 tool steel. I am adding bearings (on order) making axles for the anvils. And heat treating these bad boys to last forever.
