What are you working on?

Really? I was hoping to mix up just a little and kinda dab it into the low spots with a foam brush. I also need to do the back sides of these. When I "pour" the back I know I'm going to get drips down the sides to what will be the top when its done. How should I deal with them? Can this stuff be sanded then polished out? This is the first time I've used it. I love the finish! It's shinny as hell!

You can do some touch up that way. It's difficult to get the amount right though. Too little and you have to do it agaon. Too much and you get an "edge"

I would have done the bottom first. Then when the top pour dripped down, you could have ground the drips off and then either sand and buff or cover it up.

You CAN sand and buff, but the beauty of this stuff is that you don't have to.

I wasnt going to worry about the bottom when I started but now that I have low spots and have to buy more anyway......

this ...conversion...i wont reveal the so called "kit" manufacturers name in pubilc ...but its been a fitment NIGHTMARE...id seriously have been better off doing the whole thing from scratch from wrecker parts

As if I didn't have enough going on, I decided it's time to give my trailer some much needed love. The expanded metal is just to light. I had wood on it at one time. It rotted, I changed it, It rotted. My buddy needed it and brought it back with the expanded metal on it. I never asked him to do it, he just did. That is why Tommy is on the short list of people who get to use it.

This 3/16 steel is a much better plan. I have been meaning to do this for ,oh.... I don't know 3 perhaps 4 years. ;)

Probably about as long as he's been saying he's going to buy that 3-speed from me.

I didn't have my 68 sedan nor did you have the trans at the time. :naughty:

But I think it was in '02 or '03 when I got the "pickle" :hmmm:

68! How far from Belgium Wi are you? I will be heading to joliet Ill. for the NHRA drags the last weekend in June. I meet up with my buddy in Belgium then head oot to Chi-town from there. If I have room I can bring that trany down if that will help you and Jass out.

Belguim is about 90 miles from me. :(

You'll be taking I-43 to Milwaukee, which is still about 60 miles away.

Beeper was hinting at a Nut's Nat this summer, so we'll let Doc trip over the trans for a while longer. :D

Keep in mind, 68, that I just crushed my own beloved project car. Don't think I wasn't eyeballing that transmission while we were loading additional weight onto the trailer. I even scrapped out the E-body 8¾" housing and shafts that I had, as well as a set of big-bolt 8¾" truck shafts that someone claimed they wanted 4 months ago--but I've not heard back since. If I would have had my engine crane, that 360 long block would be gone, too. A friend is using the hoist at the moment, though, so the 360 was spared. I've been trying to hang onto the stuff people say they want, but I'm going to be honest: If it comes down to a 5lb. bag of dog food or that transmission, the dog is going to eat.

I think we just have to mark the calender for a Nut's Nat. :hmmm:

I know Valentine only eats one kind, does it happen to be made by Nestle' - Purina ?

I get a major discount as a former employee and could make her an appealing peace offering. ;)

Yeah, well, you'd have to bring the dog food here, wouldn't you? At that point you may as well just buy the damned transmission. I had to take her off the good dog food because I couldn't afford it anymore at $35/bag. She's currently on Beneful Healthy Weight. Anything cheaper than that she plows through at an amazing rate, and the "poopulation" in my front yard skyrockets.

I don't want to be a jerk about it, but I'll probably do a scrap run again soon. I have some old appliances I don't need, I'll get my engine crane back soon, and I have some other stuff that can go as well (full set of 15x7 plain steelies, full set of cop wheels, etc.). I have no income whatsoever--I'm still not getting any unemployment compensation. I'm running out of stuff to sell and/or scrap after 9 months. I have $15.22 in my pocket, $5.13 in my bank account and I'm staring at unpaid electric, gas, and cable bills. My phone will shut off yet again in 8 days. You have the luxury of time and humor. I don't. I had to sell the pinball machine that was in my family for over 35 years. I've crushed my car. I have a guy coming to look at my Dad's pool table, bought for him by my Mom for Christmas in 1974. I'm done fucking around. It's not funny on this end. I don't mind storing something that isn't mine (I've had a diff sitting here for years that belongs to Stretch; I sold it to him) but if it's mine I'll do what I feel is necessary. That trans will not survive the next scrap run, and no amount of wailing or gnashing of teeth will stop me.
