What are you working on?

I picked it up for a friend of mine, he got hired at a new awesome job but needs to pass probation before his bank will allow him to buy another house so he can move back to Saskatchewan with his family so he needed a cheap reliable set of wheels for three months.

So I picked up that beauty of a 1990 for $600 with 143,000 miles on the clock (229,000kms)

It's got a new water pump, plug wires, harmonic balancer and crank sensor and 4 almost new tires already.

Needs a belt tenioner pulley, serpentine belt, spark plugs and it's getting an oil change and fuel filter.

Today we ripped the 360 from the Dart. It's getting the 340 from my Duster.

Oh, and we greased the throwout bearing on our GMC. So far so good. Might yet squeak a few miles out of the 'ole girl.

And I made tacos for dinner. Yum.

I installed a new washer and dryer.

Despite measuring twice and double checking the specs., they don't fit well.

I knew that the new units were a bit deeper, but it didn't spec out to be much different than what we had.

We have a main floor laundry room which is basically the back hall behind the garage. The side door is at the end. That door *just* swings past the front of the dryer, but only if you keep the knob turned so that the latch bolt stays in the door. Let it out and it will hit the dryer.

I'm going to have to get the side vent kit and have the gas line ripped out. That will allow me to move the dryer about 3 or 4 inches closer to the wall.

So much fun.

Oil change and trans fluid and filter on the Barracuda today. The car is MUCH happier now! :2thumbs:
Proof a car is like a woman: If the car ain't happy, you ain't happy! :D

I ordered my clock insert Friday. Today I went to the lumber yard and bought some more oak and some cherry. The cherry is really nice. The grain in the oak is awesome. I got my clock base sanded and I started on my next project.

My old boss asked me to make her some more of these game boards. I made her 6 of them about 10 years ago. She has grandkids now and asked me to make 4 more. She has me make them out of oak faced plywood because they take them camping and they get used alot. I'm making two extras. One for Chrissie and I and one for Julie (my old boss) The 2nd two will be nice. All hard wood (oak and cherry) and they will have storage underneath the game board for the marbels and dice. Julie has no idea about the extra one for her.

I'm off the crutches so I was back out in the garage this weekend. I finished three of the game boards for Julie. I finished the oak and cherry top for another game board. I also started on the hard wood top for my new tool box/roll cart.

Trying to figure out how the hell my buddy's going to ship a pair of '68-'69 Chevelle outer wheelhouses, both going different places. Holy Hannah are these things enormous!

This is a tool box top work surface for one of my boxes at the shop. I used a scrap piece of 2" thick oak my Dad had laying around. It had knot holes in it so I just filled them with wood puddy and then sealed it with a 2 part epoxy that is super strong and shinny. It's used for bar tops mostly.

Envirotex or something different?

Either way, that stuff is magic. I'm using it on my pedal builds now. It's tricky on vertical surfaces, but I'm getting there.

Besides working on the derby car.

Fixing up my awesome FREE lawnmower! :giggedy: :D

Yep! It's Envirotex. I didn't build a fire in the garage the night I poured this on. It got alot colder than I thought it was going to. (About 32 deg) I wish I would have. The stuff didn't flow all the way out. I have a thin spot on one, about the size of a 50 cent piece and a spot a little larger than a half dollar on the other. It kinda sucks but I'm just going to be beating the shit out of it as a tool box top work surface anyway so I guess I dont care.

Ok! I care! damn I hate being a perfectionist!

:D I ended up doing 4 pours on my pedal because I wasn't happy with the results.

The nice thing is you can scuff it up with a scotch brite, clean it, and pour again.
If you spread it around well, you can minimize the build up and just the low spots filled along with a thin overall coat to unify everything.
