tiny...aka 1958 lloyd

well the weather has come back....but thats not as important....

since the day i got the lloyd i put myself onto a mailing group of micro car owners and have been told to bring the lloyd to this years show NO MATTER WHAT :giggedy: ..hell i dont even have to pay to get into the show its that good of an invite from the organizer himself:shifty: who has a beatup but modified subaru 360 with i think a 4cyl vw engine in it now..show is i belive the 28th of july so ive plenty of time to do pretty much anything

sooo a fire has been lit under my ass to get rolling again on it....spent the last week re-cleaning/organizing the shop the best i could..and saterday i sold a small pile of spare cuda parts to a guy in tacoma...sooo i have fundage to move forward agian...but have had a lil bug put into my ear that i may be reciveing a running driveing 2.5 87 alfa milano FREE(blown cam seals wich are a biotch to replace)..soo i think i just found my seats and posibly a change in the drivetrane layout but im not sure...[smilie=f:

started work on fabbing a dash and rehung alot of the sheetmetal..pic's should start rollin out in the next week or 2

So where is this Micro Car show? I assume you will have camera in hand for that event as well?? :helpme: :D

WHAT you have done so far is BEAUTIFUL. when i was younger the guys were putting in the big blocks in the ANGLIA cars and sitting in the backseats and driving them. the real version of streetrods. when i read your posts today starting at the first thats what i thot you should do. now i think like you do on this.. you said something about having 2 engines in this . if so xplain it to me please. ---i have been thinking about my 55 BUICK. and always thot of puttin in a front wheel drive in the back. much like the Tucker. i believe it can be done. i am still thinking about it. now that i see what you have done the interest is looking good again. i,ll have to look at and measure a 100 times before i cut into it. i think it would be awsome to do. the work you have done is great.. wish i were there to help it,s rite up my alley so to speak. --- the back dr. window should stay even if you put the engine back there. i think to see in there and see an engine sitting there would be sweet. wonderful craftmanship there big guy. (no pun on the height) ....would make a sweet buggy to go to the egg store. i think you scored a good deal and it,s one of a kind and that makes me smile..keep up the good work----ORVIL:cool:

fishy ..you think id forget my camera..LOL yeah right

orvil if i was working with something like a buick id probably start off useing say a 70's toronado or caddilac eldorado ..BIG engines and FWD could easily be mounted back there and theer on a solid frame..probably wouldnt be even half of a big deal to do..IMO the caddy would probably need nothing more than some cutting and tabs welded to the frame to bolt it all in as i belive the caddy FWD setup is on its own platform like the 70's mopars

gotta admit theres alot of times where i wish i had a second pair of hands and a fresh mind helping me.......but it hit me yesterday how to posibly fix the hood/grill problem...early 60s volvo hood

well i headed out to the yard's looking for a 60's volvo hood...sigh found none...but i did find the cutest lil wiper arm its only about 8 inches long and the chrome is nice....was on the ground next to the 60's dodge PU i was ripping the wing window rails out of.........i used the same rails to do the rear window slides, these are for the windshield

also found me a set of rather cool heater vents out of a opel manta and some pushbuttons for trunk/hood release

should be able to start cutting the windshield area out in the next day or 2..its piss pouring and cold

AAAWWWWW---Beauty and the BEAST- ain,t this a sweet couple---69.5 and Lloyd----? ( didn,t mean it that way)----should paint the Tazmainian Devil on the side when done------ ORVIL

been down more or less ill......as of late ive just been trying to force myself on and sickness be damned...got a top of a dash built..also started on mechanical LED tail light cyclers

in desperate need of 60s a100-a108 dodge van front door wing window tracks and or the window slide channel cut from the door's and sent to me...there are NONE localy and they make for the straightest best window chanels and accept 70's dodge truck rubbers..i need 4 of them at a minimum prefereably 6 of em(there about 2 foot long or so)

ok well the DR has me on some pills for my internal issues(still waiting on another appt to get another tube/camera ran around thru me and NOT looking forward to it)..anyway the pills are every 4hours and ive got no "bad" side effects..well cept not being able to sleep as easy..but ive got ALL of my energy + some back soo yeah maybe im tweeking a bit but hell ima put it to work..even tho im staying up till 4-5am ive been doing ALOT of work in the shop late at night thinking and other "quiet" work..i can weld and drill just no grinding/cutting

anyway heres a few shots of the dash work that ive done..its nothing to impressive yet but getting the straight edge and double curve wasnt easy..the vent on it WILL be sunk into it..its a vent out of an opel

ok as all of you know the tail light turn signal chaseing led's has been a challange and then some..well i finaly figured it out..its crude at best but will function as i want untill i can find someone to make me a digital LED controler

the spaceing is exactly 18 deg..i had to buy a stainless steel mini protractor and then cut a slit down its main arm to give me the lines to figure it all out.....then i had to cut a notch into my drill press plate so that i could have a allen screw sit in it giveing me a percision piviot point for keeping the drilled holes an exact amount from center....2 diferent templates 1 for the nail board and 1 for the aluminum plates that the led's will sit in....im in mid progress on them right now so expect more pic's tonight or tomaro...

i held up the aluminum plates to the frenched sections in the car and then primered em ..then used a micromiter to figure out EXACT average width then cut it in half and used it to score lines to find center

fishy and all the others wondering how someone 6'3+ can fit into this lil thing well i figured out how to use the "timer" on my digital camera so heres ya a few pic's ...i make the car look MUCH MUCH bigger than it realy is..note how tiny the door window is

also my welder/plasma cutter cart and a stool i completely redid the seat on...been spending sooo much time at the drill press its a nice comfy seat quad padded..started with HEAVY fiber sound deadner then a layer of medium sound deadner then dense foam and then light foam..you could sit on this thing all day and never complane...and it was ALL leftover materials from that bus project

yeah yeah yeah my hair is long and hasnt gotten its summer clear cut...i can actualy chew on it its THAT long..and only growth since it was 1/4 inch in oct.....just hasnt been warm enuf to bother

since i figured out the tail lights i realised i forgot to figure out how in the hell i was going to mount them up..i never realy thought about it..and this hit me at about 3 am the other night..admitedly a tad crude atm but it was the simplest cleanest setup i could think of and keep it easy to work with....ill clean it up and smooth it out later...likely cut a channel into the aluminum so i can use a BIG rubber o-ring to seal the setup

yup but i sit the same way in the alfa and drive like a madman...gotta remember tho im ditching the bubble top on the lloyd for a flatter minivan roof sooo headrooms going to be close but not tight..should be just enuf to keep from bonking it or hair oil-staining it

and ive been hunting for that song..its a BIOTCH to find.........also been tryin to get a uhh "free" copy of "lowrider magazine vol 2"...some stuff on there i HAVE TO HAVE

you notice how much leg room i got tho fishy...aint going to be cramped up at all...well sideways yeah since your shoulders will rest on the sides of the car LOL

btw the box on the floor is aprox location of the neon shifter with a home brewed short shift

Can't find Low rider? :wtf: Both War and ZZ Top had pretty popular versions of it.... shouldn't be so hard to find...
