Man, I gotta tell ya, I' admire the thought and effort you put into these things. You've come up with some really good ideas for this little car.
And ticked off some Jaguar Purists for sure!

If you ever make it over this way, come around job huntin'.

im 100% self taught ..custom work and design comes from a void in my brain and will keep me awake at night...the things ive designed in a late night brain awakining would scare the custom body builders ...money is all that has ever stoped me....belive me if i could jump out there and grab a body man apretice ship of some kind id be allllll over it

i dont see the "checker" design that your seeing..probably cause i literaly ignore the color change and see the finished product...should look like a 50 merc with an eyebrow...for those of you that didnt notice have a double take at the grill

lunch break

..well i trimmed down the jag buckets and did some more test fitting...found that i didnt like the depth of them sooooo i extended the bucket depth..this will french the light in as well as the chrome ring

while test fitting i didnt like some of the edges to i hammer rolled them a bit further than they already were

going to have to change the fender lines slightly to mount these up but not half as much as it looks..its actualy quite subtle....been talking to some ppl on a hotrod/custom board about suspensions and found that i can get some good performance out of a modified mustang 2 front end using coilovers and tube arms...even better is i can get it 46 inch hub to hub...not sold on the idea yet but its looking better and better

That Mustang II suspension is quite popular among rodders, seem quite versatile for most any application, and parts is still available and easy to get. If it will fit under there, I say go for it.

2 good days of work and heres what ya got to look at...pics DO NOT do the effort or work justice

the butchering to do this was NOT pretty to say the least....its straight and square even tho it doesnt look it

one final pic for the day

i will say this doing filler work on frenched headlight buckets is NOT simple work and has to be done almost completely by hand...

starting to have that 50s lead sled look to the face

considering ive always wanted to build a 58 merc..but will NEVER be able to afford the body..im takeing the libertys on this lil one that i would have done to a merc...just on a smaller scale...

i must admit the car is fun and rather rewarding to work on..with a lil luck it should be flat out insane to drive

glad yall enjoy the progress

The nose is looking good.

It's sad tough....90% of the people that see the finished product won't realize that anything was done or appreciate the work that went into it.

yeah only a llyod owner will even know what there looking at or someone who had one in the family....but atleast i will stand out in ANY crowd just like i like to do...definatly 1 of a kind thats for sure

some of the work "should" be obvious but alot of it will probably just look like it was ment to be there

well past the point of no return...sure is easyer once youve done once side..to understand exactly what to do on the other side..as well as where to improve or make things go alot smoother...definatly less filler on this side

well whatcha think of the fender facelifts..HUGE improvement imo...the grill area howerver is creativly fighting me for the correct execution of design and form...the hood has turned my attention to it...its needs to be butched back 3 unches to clean up the face..as well as 3 inchs off the back needs to become a cowl area so that i dont have external hinges on it as well as a better fitment in general...not a simple task by no means

anyway the shop is trashed with sanding dust and what not...so i must lower the lloyd tomaro to the ground and move it out to clean..going to do a "mockup" with a set of tires under it and a ground clearance check

let me just say, that is fukin awsome. I can't wait to see it when its done. Goodluck with the mock up. :giggedy:

Lookin badass as usual bro!! IMO the grille needs to be not so square and boxy lookin. Doesn't fit well with the new fenders/lights or the bodylines of the car. If possible I'd say go full on Merc with it even if it does give it that kinda 'frown' look. It's got the right lines it just may well look right! :hmmm:

the grill is NOT currently in it....just some 57 chevy rockets to get me inspired

this is going to sound REALY screwy ..so bear with me..

take the upper rear section of a dodge truck door window area both driver and passenger side..then take the lowwer section of the window area..this would become the grill shell surround..thus giveing a slight angle on each side as well as a semi smooth roll in....

as i said the grill is creativly fighting me ..i want a merc look of sorts meaning i need a smoooooooth rolled entrance...the glitter in the opening is currently not important as i will likely semi copy the 57 chevy rocket look or something to give the "tits and teeth" look

couldent resist and lowered the bosy down to the floor and put a set of 14x8 race slicks under it(there 21.5 total hight and the tires ive picked for the project are 185 55 14 wich is 22 inches) and put it 6 inchs from the ground(average car is 6-10)...lets just put it this way...ill get pics tomaro...but its INSANE
