tiny...aka 1958 lloyd

please not how much space that trans takes up...the engine is just as wide..in fact i will end up with 1/4 inch of clearance on each side at the wheel wells from crank pulley to the end of the trans..its THAT TIGHT..whoever said "shoehorning" in an engine never had one this tight

its quite nice haveing enuf music on the shop pc to literaly run for 5 days straight without repeating a song..yes the radio face lights up and yes the deck is powered off the pc itself

im most likely going to dig out my sand blaster and blast the trans then wire wheel it and clear coat it

Those fender wells will move if need be. I you can speed shift it without scattering stuff you just might have a roll bar required- wierd little car on your hands.

yeah thats what im looking at...if a 3500lb turbo minivan can run 12s with those mods listed..then what happens when you drop atleast 1500lbs?
as i see it the only weak link in the 2.5 turbo engine/trans is the diff

With less than half the "original" weight, the stress on the trans & diff will be reduced to probably 1/4th

Years ago there were many v-dubs converted to sb chev power. The transaxles survived well with the lightweight strain.

sadly ...im starting to think about the front suspension...bot since im going to have small bolt metric mopar in the rear..id need something the same up front.....and if that the case im loseing the front engine...no a bid deal realy

but the mis match bolt pattern got me thinkint...what about some of the RWD import mopars IE starion and such...5lug, strut setup..sure alot harder to graft but even a mustang 2 front end i would have to narrow about 20 inches or so...

once the body is in primer and the bancrupcy stuff finalized the 2.5 will start being put in(2weeks or so)..once im sure of the 2.5 i will turn my attention to the front end.....anyone got a list of RWD import mopars with 5 lug?

one hell of a day

been a GREAT day..primer from last night on the tail floor pan and rear wheel wells dryed grat and scuffed as any primer should..durability was as expected sooooo i turned my attention to the skins..figured if im going to do this i might as well do it right...and SANDED the rear quarters and upper drivers quarter down to bare steel..yup original paint and primer..no filler ANYWHERE no rust holes either :P.......

45 mins later

and 45 mins later we have touchable sandable sheetmetal...god its nice to not be looking at piss cream yellow any more

figured id toss the skins in place and see how it looks mmmm mmmm yeah..also taped the tail lights in to give a better perspective

its sooo nice to be able to lay the steel where it belongs and have the structure actualy hold them there..it alows ya to step back and see what youve done very quickly

at first glance it looks like ive got alot of digs to fill in but all in all i dolleyd out the bad stuff(a few spots looked like someone hit it hard with a pointed body hammer)...i also dolleyd out alot of mushapen assembly holes just to make sanding easyer..yes ive still got to drill and well the tail light areas on the passenger upper quarter

on a side note i got a bit of "back ground" of this cars life...was bought in florida when it was new..driven out this way by a family and soon became "farm" transportation and was quickly becomeing tooo small and was simply parked..some 25-30 years later it was bought and moved into a garage where it was to become a project...tho NOTHING was done to it but the rear coils removed as well as some glass and it was moved to the end of the shop and turned sideways to take up less space...over the years a work bench was built above it and it was soon burried with stuff as of 6 or so years ago the man who bought it died..and as the family was cleaning out the garage the stumbled apon it a friend of the family said he would like to take it...he dug it out and draged it home..where it sat in the yard for a few years when he told his brother that he had to have it...the brother came and picked it up..and had it for a few months befor i found out about it...the rest you know.......now i have no way of verifying the entirity of the story but its intresting none the less

Your attachments don't seem to be working in your 2 previous posts:wtf:
There's a few other posts by other people that have the same prob. Your older attachmets are still working though:hmmm: Sounds like you're making nice progress though:)

I can see them - even with my test account that has no admin access.

Fishy, when you read the posts are you looking at your computer monitor?

K, all the attachments are back except for the last couple of weeks..

69.5, if you want, I can re-post the pics. Just e-mail them to me at dbmaster@moparnuts.com

I think I have enough info to get the right pictures into the right places.

Looking Awesome, but you gotta slow down, you're making all these other guys look bad with their progress...:bwuhaha:
