84 Crewcab...AKA..Patches

it makes for a "cleaner" looking finished product in my mind as well..while yes..you get to see a lil sealant or gasket.(sealant can be cut off)..it gives a "break" line on parts for a more finished look..or atleast thats the way ive always seen it...factory painted engines looked like they dipped em and didnt care..always annoyed me..compare a factory "dipped" engine to a fresh rebuild with every part painted then assembled and youll see what i mean....in the case of things like tcase/trans...its not like youll ever really see them..but the leak situation still holds true...there is a reason ive always painted heads and block seperately

Got the mounts made for the intercooler. I will let the pics tell the story here.

I decided to mount it without the upper and lower bushings. I installed it with the lower bushings and the IC had way too much movement.

I also had to notch the center support just a bit to gain a little extra room. But that's par for the course. ;)

All done, pretty happy with the way it turned out. I just need to throw a little flat black on it and it will be ready to install.

Nice and tight...

I was referring to the pics of the wood tiled floor. :)

Ahhhh.......Someone years ago cut off the back 3rd of the garage and made it into a bedroom. I promptly removed said walls...but left the peal and stick vinyl squares. ;) :D And with my old kitchen cabinets it gives the garage a very homey feeling....:shifty:

So, you can still get the feeling of gettin greasy in your own house *cough*Doc*cough* :D and not upset the wifey. Nice! :2thumbs: :D

:D

I was watching one of those house flipper shows and in one episode there was half an engine block hanging from the ceiling.

Burn marks on my kitchen floor from an 8-3/4" center section, fresh out of the oven for new pinion races. You can see where the nose of the case was, those are the ring-shaped burns.

F_ckin' dog is camera-shy until I don't want her in the picture... started to take the pic and she walked over and plopped right down in the middle of it. :doubt:

Nope. In the color scheme I use, the background is dark grey and that lettering is black so it can't be read without highlighting it. It's also the reason I often can't read stuff copied & pasted from other sources like e-mail. You have to hit the uppermost-left icon in the posting window to fix it before you hit the "Post" button on the lower right. I can hardly read the stuff you pasted, Feesh.

I like the YouTube Mario64 connection, personally. WTF is that?

Yup I've noticed that. Odd that it's all mostly Chevy related searches....no Dodge ram searches....:D

Maybe their search engines are saying, "Oh, you want Chevy? Here, let me educate you about a real truck." :D

Yesterday I got the oil pan gasket, and rear main seal done. Nothing really special about it...other then the 36 frackin bolts for the oil pan!!!

I wanted to get that done before I dropped the motor back in the truck. So today I did just that....motors back in. I also got all the clutch and bell housing assemblies installed as well.

Hope to have the tranny in tomorrow, and get the tranny mount located so I can drill all the holes in the frame for it.

And I'm seriously cheesed off as well. I've been searching for days for the transfer case shifter, boot and ring. Can't find it anywhere. I still have a few weeks before I'll be close to needing it...so hope it shows up before then. [redface]
