Damn! That's awesome! :)

Those wobbly old buckets are a hoot to drive, eh?
Basic everything and yet they still just purr right along.

Looks like a nice neighbourhood, too.

Very cool vids....Thanks for sharing those moments with us!! Like you said it's been a long hard road to get to where it is now...but worth it in the end I bet!!

Love the sound of that motor and tranny....makes me want to go bring the Desoto home so I can cruise around the neighbourhood.

Very cool videos. I tend not to watch those kinds of videos for very long.
I watched those all the way through. So cool.

Ooh, Doc's favorite filter brand!!!

sent from outter space using mental telepathy.

the owner is on a tight budget...im just going the extra mile here and there cause i can....its the old motor from my 68 fish....little did i know in 68 they changed the damn converter, crank, flex plate

yeah makes for a right quick pain in the ass...tho..there is a shortcut fix...look up "pat blais" and youll find the crank bushing to shim it down from the big hole to the small hole..then you need a late style flex 10inch flex -plate and your good

It's a lot harder going the other way, where the crank hole would be too small. I don't know how many hours I laid under that car with the die grinder. :(

Can you guess which is the trademarked Hemi head? ;)
I've been rebuilding a 2.0 Alfa motor. I blew the head gasket and, since a complete gasket set was only about $120, I'm re-gasketing the entire motor. Had it ripped down as far as possible without pulling the internals.

If that head works as well as the Chrysler one, and I don't see any reason it shouldn't, when you have it resurfaced you should have them mill it for about 11:1 compression. An iron-head 426 will live all day long on pump gas at 10.5:1 compression; an alloy head should be able to take nearly a point more.

milling that head down would mean pistons smacking things....someone put soo much piston into it that they look like the mold made to make the head..the head actualy checks out as perfectly square..the "blown" head gasket was just a seal leak from the jacket out...as in the jugs were all still sealed

Doesn't look like a head for the same engine. The cooling passage openings look totally different to me.

The clean "Hemi" head is off of a '77 Alfa Romeo 2.0 4 cyl. The dirtier one is a vintage 354(?) head from a '58 New Yorker, if I recall correctly. 69 knows for sure.
