Today, more painting. Assuming my back will let me. Don't know what I did to upset my lower back but I can barley stand today. My bad disk hasn't given me any real issues in a few years but today, holy crap!
Well see what the weather brings tomorrow. If it holds out I have some sand blasting to do before the weekend. I'd like to paint some more parts Saturday. We are supposed to get 4 to 6" of wet heavy snow tomorrow. If so I won't be sand blasting after work. I'll be using a shovel to F up my back even more.
You may have noticed that the original switch plate had the correct "art deco" switch lever and a aftermarket push pull switch underneath for the ignition. I replaced the push pull switch with a twist switch and we needed a matching leaver for it. We had a extra switch panel and it has a leaver for the headlights but it had a chip in it, it had been broken and glued together at some point, and the shaft dia. was slightly smaller than what we need for the new switch.
The guy who owns this car happens to make custom jewelery so he took the bad leaver, mad a wax casting, then made a new switch out of sterling silver.
I did get a few parts blasted the other night. Not a fun task outside in the wet heavy snow. Those parts are cleaned, hanging, prepped and ready for paint.
This morning I'l be painting those parts then I'm off to the basement to change the bladder tank for my well. After that I will be changing the ceiling fan in Brian's room and then the fan in the dining room. The one from Brian's room is junk. The one from the dining room is going to be put to use in my garage.
It's last day on the spinner.
This afternoon it'l be back on the casters it arrived on... back in 2008.
But, aside from a small bit of work still to do on the rad support panel, it's ready to come apart and have all the edges cut in.
The fenders aren't even shimmed, and they fit extremely well, especially considering the amount of steel that was replaced and the fact that one fender is an AMD repro and the other was badly damaged.
The dust... well, it is in a body shop.
Five or six hours almost every weekend since late October. It's been a loooonnnnnnng winter.
