Rusty's not very quiet cuda progress

So after it cooled down a bit I pulled a plug (same #1) Me thinks it looks a ton better? What say you guys!View attachment 28630View attachment 28631
I don't think I've ever owned a Mopar that had plugs that clean.

1st the oil warning light kinda flashes on & off when idling, goes out as soon as I start moving, not hearing any rat tat tat's
I do not like that one bit. I know OP senders have different pressure settings. I changed the sender in mine to adjust the pressure where the light comes on per Jass, but I don't remember if it's higher or lower. That pressure setting could be the cause - the light's coming on too soon. I'll get back to you about Jass' pressure switch info he passed to me.

2nd thing I'm not sure about, as I was slowing down for a light it dropped into second, did it a couple of times, is that right when your in drive?
Probably has a shift kit in it. Cross your fingers and hope it does.

Here it is:
For added peace of mind, I'd suggest getting AllStar part #ALL99059 (street price around $20) to replace your OE oil switch. The factory switch is rated for 4PSI, which is simply too late. The AllStar part turns the light on at 20PSI, which gives you time to kill the engine before everything's junk. I have a 1/8"NPT street tee installed in my W2 engine; one side feeds a VDO gauge and the other is for the AllStar switch. At idle, the light is just flickering and the gauge is right at 20PSI.
In the best case you've got the 20 PSI switch so the pressure is going below that to turn on the light.

In the worst case you've got the 4 PSI switch so the pressure is going below that to turn on the light.

I would find a lazy day and hook up a manual gauge to see what's going on.

I've got a tee to hook up the sender and a manual gauge if you need it.

I would like a gauge so I know where it's at, the other car had one I think it ran around 75???
That had tiny plastic tubing to hook it up.
Can you just shoot a pick of the tee , trying to think of how to hook it all up, don't remember the fitting the other car used.
This car just has the sender & a wire slid onto the top of it?

Where would I be able to connect a gauge into?

I'm pretty sure the tee I have is a factory part because I've seen it on multiple unmolested 360s.

It is a long hex shaped part that screws into the block and has two tapped holes for connections - I put the factory switch in one and the mechanical connection in the other. The other tee is in a box of spare parts - I think.

I don't have a photo handy but will see what I can do later today.

I can get you a good picture of that "T" tonight rusty. I am ready to pull the block out of Agnes and the "T" is right out in the open.

Thanks guys, all I need now is to blow the #'s motor!

I cruised around summit last night, they have gauges, a few different tees & the sender Bob mentioned, I guess if I call they could set me up with the right stuff?

Damn I thought I was pretty much done, little (well I hope little) things keep popping up.

I'll start with the good stuff because after that things went downhill fast!
Fired up ok, Idled it for 20mins. or so then pulled the plug, still looked about the same. 20250404_130112.jpg20250404_130124.jpgChecked the oil, she's still full & no smell of gas in it.
While idling I pulled the fill cap & she looks nice & oily in there.

Seeing the oil gush around actually had me feeling good, didn't last long.

So I crawl under to check my leaks, the rear seal in the tranny has a slow drip, not much of a stain on the floor, I also think my rear main on the motor has a small leak, signs of oil at the front of the tranny.
Those as long as they stay small I will live with.

then I noticed my neutral safety harness was laying on the header, forgot to restrap it last go round, luckily I had sleeved it, just melted the outer plastic, black taped over that area & strapped it up well away from the headers! 20250404_123049.jpgThen I started to charge up the A/C to look for the leak, pulled a vac for about an hour & put in about a can & a half, bout 80lbsstanding pressure.
Fire it up & start the A/C , compressor didn't kick in, I did not have this problem last time, tried jumping both switches (Stat & hi/low pressure) & still no go.
After messing with that I was so pissed at this damn car I just packed up for the day!!!

So Mark was out back working so I just watched him work & BS'ed a while

Inner well going on. 20250404_134049.jpgSpotting in the patch panel20250404_155505.jpg20250404_155523.jpgIt was nice watching someone else kick & curse, did lend the occasional hand & calmed down a bit!
