Hey Dumb Shit! Dumbass brake jobbers!

All,
One should consider the source before allowing things to upset them. Not worth the effort.

"hey guys! I fixed the front brakes on my truck the right side was pretty messed up, I wonder who worked on it before?" (picture or description follows)

That would have accomplished 2 things.

1. we know you work on cars
2. In a non-offending manner you would have opened up a cool discussion of incorrect things we have seen.

:pah well :deadhorse:

Betya some of these guys accomplish more before coffee than what you have done your entire time here, but that's either hair or nair.

Ummmm..........V8440 - would now be a good time to say: "I told you so.....?" :D (Thinking back to Jamie's last "episode" with Doc Jass)

Seem's Jamie's being Jamie again.

Mr. 6pk is right - He's not worth getting all worked up about.

I'm beginning to think Jamies's just trolling to see what kind of reaction he will get - I find it hard to believe that he's stupid enouigh to think his comments won't piss someone off...

BTW - thanks to all you Dumbshit techs (and parts guru) for being here and bailing me out with help & advice everythime I get in over my head working on my own stuff....:bravo:

Told me what? That people can overreact more than once? I can see how what he said could piss people off, but I really thought it was pretty obvious that he didn't literally mean ALL techs. At least, that's the way I read it. I thought his original post was moderately amusing, probably in the way he meant it to be.

This is really starting to seem like moparts. The name calling and ganging up is getting old. I came here to get away from that and the heavy-handed moderation.

Well - I'm sorry you feel that way.

However, there is big difference between tolerating the village idiot and encouraging him.

the heavy-handed moderation.
Here?
You must be joking, right? :)

Sorry Man. I've worked pretty hard to know what I know, and I don't like dough heads like Jamie belittling the trade in any way.
If you know what you're doing, criticize all you want. When you don't know if you're punched, bored, reamed or fucked in the head, guys like Jamie should keep the comments to him self.

I must say, you guys kinda give me a queasy feeling with a bunch of the responses. I'm trying to imagine what he might have said or done before I came here that would even vaguely warrant the treatment he gets when he says something someone disagrees with. So far I'm coming up emptyhanded. The stuff I see people say to him is often so much uglier and more mean spirited than any post of his they might be responding to that I'm amazed. I mean, he bitches about someone screwing up the brakes on his truck and some of you guys are acting like he was talking about you and end up calling him names. It's like someone bumps into somebody on the street, and the person they bumped beats them unconscious with a baseball bat.

That's why I'm trying to imagine how or when he might have slapped somebody's momma or raped their dog, and I'm coming up emptyhanded.

If Jamie's post was written without insulting "most Technicians", then nobody would have taken offense.

I kind of enjoyed watching the response he got :)

Well, I think that aspect can be solved with a few simple questions. In fact, it can be looked at as a flow chart in question form:

1. Are you a technician?
If yes, go to question 2. If no, you have no reason to be insulted. Have a coke and a smile and STFU.

2. Are you a careful and competent technician?
If yes, go to question 3. If no, you were called out accurately. Have a coke and a smile and STFU.

3. Were you specifically called out by the original poster?
If yes, throw a tantrum. If no, have a coke and a smile and STFU.

See? Isn't that simple and logical? If you're a technician and competent, you weren't being referred to. If you are not a technician, you weren't being referred to. If you're a technician and you're sloppy and/or a dumbass, you were being referred to correctly. All others are invited to stop working hard to be offended and have a nice day. Ding! Next!
