Building Project.

My ThinkPad is 13 years old--back when it was IBM, not Lenovo. The battery doesn't hold a charge anymore, half the keys don't work, and for some reason the network card runs terribly slowly... it's really not good for anything other than music anymore. My Dell Inspiron is essentially dead. No USB, no sound, network card is sketchy, battery is dead as is the CD drive and floppy. Once I have all the data off that, I'll probably shit-can it.

I have a newer laptop I bought solely to tune my fuel injection; it hasn't been used for much of that yet but it's all set to do so. It's a Dell I bought off-lease for about half the cost of an equivalent brand-new machine in terms of speed, memory, etc. without a scratch on it. 1.8GHz Core2, 2GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, 14" screen. It was less than $300 to my door. If I could get a better signal, I'd piggyback off one of my neighbors' wireless and shut my cable off altogether. :D

Unfortunately network card hasn't got an external connector and I don't have a wireless network router. The house is wired with CAT-5e into an old LinkSYS router in the basement.

wistles quietlty

i gave my girl a usb mini satalite dish that 4x's your normal range...

as far as lappys the ibm think pads we have are OLD probably the same as yours...but i was also given an alien ware m1 that was used a year and replaced to upgrade..LOL i love "leftovers"..and a HUGE HEAVY hp mediacenter lappy..same deal someone upgraded they both look new

Get yourself a Parts Express catalog... all kinds of good stereo stuff if you're going to build it on your own, which is what you imply by posting about a monoaural plate amp. You can't just leave that one lying on a shelf; it has to be part of an enclosure and well-vented.

Oh I know! :D

I was gonna buy it and build a sub box! :giggedy:

Oh yeah and I built a shipping crate for the seats, seatbelts and disc brake conversion stuff from my old Valiant and interior panels minus the headliner from the Dart to go to they're new home in a '72 Demon in BC. :D

The shipper is going to curse you for that skid unless they bring a real fork lift.
A heavy duty pump cart won't fit because of those bottom stringers..

I learned this the hard way. Luckily, I had a good guy and ee worked it out. We ended up beating the snot out of the skid, but it held.

Servicing that bad boy might be an issue, way up like that...?

It's a little tricky but doable, you just need a ladder. :) It only needs to be done every other year for how often it gets used. :D

I've knocked those bottom boards off the palate so you can use just a regular palate jack with it. I noticed that after I took the picture. :D

Getting closer! Going to be bringing in my Dakota this weekend and going let it thaw out.

But in the meantime.

Got my tire rack built!

We installed new retractable air hose reels at work so I snagged a couple of the old ones to hold my extra air hoses.

Nice shiny new clock and some memento's. That "Beer" plate was VERY dirty one summer day quite a few years ago and my mom went a traced a "B" in the middle of the plate and then traced out the other letters to reflect the word beer when light hit the plate and never told me about it and I never noticed until later that evening me and my buddies were out cruising in my '77 Newport when I got stopped by a cop who didn't find my license plate that funny and I blamed it on my buddies that night when later I found it was my own mother that pranked me. :D So I just immortalized it with some spray paint and a stencil graffiti style. The other plate came from my New Yorker before I got the personalized plate, I was amused that I got a plate for a rebuilt car that said "Fixt" :D

Better put some orange warning signs on that pole outside your door...someones gonna try and push it aside...but the poles usually win.
