1982 Cordoba Stock Car.

You should've had them powder-coated, or at least painted them to slow down corrosion.

:finger::D

The sleeve and sway bar mount are pressed together and then the assembly is pressed onto the end of the bar, you would just destroy the powder coating.

I coated the motherlovin shit out of it with this.

It's military grade.

Apparently, you've never tried to destroy professionally-done powder coating. It's far from easy.

What is this "professional powder coating" you speak of? :hmmm:

There is only one place in town that does powder coating and it would have cost $100 and I probably would have had to wait 6 months. :D

Obviously, they're rip-off artists. $100 for two tiny pieces?! Hell, my friend had it done on the intake and valve covers of his 383 for $150, 17 years ago when it was much more exotic than it is now.

"Put these in with the next load. I don't care if they're freakin' pink. I'll pay cash and don't want a receipt."

That "no receipt" thing and paying with cash money will get you everywhere. I had a set of wheels blasted and epoxy-primed for $25, because it went into both booths on "big company contract" time, and they had beer money. :D

Well got some more work done on the car tonight.

Finished prepping the 11.75" rotors, packed the bearings and installed them on the car.

I also made some minor modifications to them, I drilled and tapped two small holes into the face of the rotor hub about 1/2" deep.

Then using pieces of hose clamp I salvaged from some old radiant heater couplers the neighbors at work threw away in our metal bin I made some straps.

Then using two stainless steel #10 machine screws I fastened the straps to the rotor.

I'm hoping this will keep the bearing caps from popping off, we just tack welded them on to Myrtle but I was hoping to devise a way that is easy to remove and reinstall without welder.

Finally after having some minor difficulty with sourcing parts I finally was able to get the front brakes assembled.

Calipers, pads and stainless hoses.

Finished up the rear brake line.

Going to paint the car and then set to wiring and plumbing it.

Got the bottom, engine bay and wheel wells painted today.

Coming along well Dippy...Love the work your doing!!

Just on those bearing cap straps...very clever!! I would use some blue lock tight on those screws too. ;)

Was really hard on the eyes painting out in the sun. :D
of that i have ZERO doubt..i did a custom built boat trailer with my own steps and running boards dead of summer around noon on a clear day in FLEET white......i got sunburnt off the reflection of the trailer and was half blind when done
