What lies beneath

The pre spot blast masking began Monday night after work. That continues today and hopefully the blasting starts today too.20201210_064611.jpg20201210_064555.jpg

Well I don't have any sand. I thought for sure I had at least 1 50# bag. If I do, I have no idea where I stashed it after the move. The more I think about it I might have used it when I blasted the K-frame from the Valiant.

At least when I came in the house I found a wet floor in the utility room. Someone felt the need to use the basement shitter and flush, oh I don't know, A ENTIRE FUCKING ROLL OF TOILET PAPER!!! After screwing around with the hand snake for about an hour I called a guy. 5 min later and $100.00 later I can take a shower.

Ok, he said $65.00 but I gave him the 100.00, he dropped what he was doing and came out on a Sunday night. It was the least I could do. I really wanted to take a shower and its Christmas.

Here's todays pictures.

Your tape lines look like a butcher's diagram (or the chrome on that Taurus that used to be around). 😁

I have a full bag of blackjack if you need it. Just say the word--it's right by the garage door. All I ax is that you replace it.

You must have some industrial strength PPE to be sandblasting in the open like that.

If I run my HF sandblast cabinet for more than a few minutes you can see it hanging in the air. (I really need to try to fix that)

Seal the housing leaks and build a cyclone for your shop vac. I made one out of a steel 5-gallon pail and some exhaust tubing... absolutely my favorite home-made tool ever. I can easily see what I'm doing and virtually nothing ends up in the shop vac.

i blasted a truck cab once..in open air.......i ductaped myself into a suit...and STILL was picking that shit out of myself weeks later..not understanding where it was coming from.....and will NEVER blast outside a cab again

It's been a while since I updated but I that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. Here's some update pictures.

As you can see I have moved from the rear window area to the Drinker side A-pillar. I filled out the rust holes and melted out the lead. I made a couple of patches and used my stud gun to spot weld a covenant handle on to the small patch. I welded them in and moved on to the hole in the windshield area.

I use the tape to make a pattern. The area is curved so by using tape, cutting it to the shape needed then peeling it off of the car then sticking it to the new piece of flat metal you can transfer the shape to the sheet. Once cut out, bending to the needed arch allows the patch to drop perfectly into the curved area. Then all that's needed is trimming it to length. Stud gunning a stud to this patch and welding it in.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.20210109_111137.jpg20210109_111337.jpg20210109_111339.jpg20210109_111408.jpg20210109_111438.jpg20210109_113912.jpg20210109_113918.jpg20210109_115917.jpg20210109_120628.jpg20210109_135305.jpg20210109_141924.jpg

I mentioned above the mice fuckered my headliner. I pulled it out before patching the A-piller. Between the mouse nest and the extremely dry rotten insulation, that chore was.... nice?.... not nice???? Very much less than fun!

After cleaning that mess up I pulled the rest of the interior with the exception of the dash.

FYi... and I should have mentioned it earlier, you can roll and brush epoxy primer on with no ill-effects, other than some orange peel. Sometimes overspray can be a big drawback.
Looks good!
