What are you working on?

Hey Bob, there's those copper rolls down in the bottom shelf.
Thank goodness we got through that without having to buy a new lineset. It's still closer to the furnace vent than I would like but everything works and that's what is important.

I like the way the bridge in the first setup actually bridges between the two tables. Nice touch!

Pretty in pink!
Cool car, don't get me thinking I need another project!
A lot of my day is spent watching MotorTrend TV and youtube. If you don't want to be tempted, stay away from those :)

Today was paint the picknick table, had some black left from the car & plenty o clear.

Couple a coats of clear...............20241019_154255.jpg
Now I have to just hope it sticks, there was quite a bit of aluminum showing? 20241019_154318.jpg

Floor, posts and new stair treads and risers are in.
The stairs and treads need another application of stain and then a top coat.

I spent a lot of time in the garage on Saturday shuffling stuff around to get the sand blaster accessible for my grandson.
Sunday, he came over and cleaned up a bunch of suspension components from his 2000 Lexus LS400 project.

He’s learning.
He’s also got a job at a dealer and is in the college apprenticeship program.

Todays adventure was kinda pushed on me by the wifey, she brought home a quart of oil base outdoor paint to try on the foundation.
I didn't think a quart was gonna go very far, but I got the whole front & side done, now I have to wait on the mason to come back & strip & replaster the other side, I did this side years ago before I had the driveway done. 20241031_191529.jpg

Catching up on things here:

Railing is in.

Baseboards and casings mostly in. They’ll get finished when the cabinets go in.

The project expanded to the family room. Ripped out the wainscoting, painting the walls and ceiling is happening right this minute, new basement door, new baseboards and casings.

I did the door swap myself. I still need to drill for the latch set.

Yep, HO, I have tons of it, my Dad's collection is still tucked away in the attic, What I have out in the garage is from junk lot/yard sale stuff, I lost my "train room" when We Had Mom move in for her last few years.
If you decide to get back in I have a lot of rolling stock & engines I don't need, can load you up at bargain basement prices, have you looked at what new stuff costs these days???

Some of Dad's stuff. 001.jpg002.jpg

Did something today that I haven't done in many years, washed & waxed the car, got the pick up washed & a coat of wax on the roof before I ran outta gas!
Cept for the plastic she doesn't look to bad for 17 years old? 20241105_151309.jpg
Truck looks a tad better clean, 20241105_162700 - Copy (2).jpgShe's an 05 with 160K on it, I did the wheel wells a few years back, hench the stripe, too lazy to paint the whole thing.
Not a lotta shine left in the roof paint20241105_152637 - Copy (2).jpgSo I may be driving my next project.
Worst spot has been rusting for quite a few years now20241105_151329.jpg
new problems bubbling up, literally, top of same wheel well. other side is still perfect? 20241105_151337.jpg& a small spot on the hood20241105_151428.jpgThe plastic is the real eye sore. Resto you in the hood, can you just clear over this or is it strip & repaint??? 20241105_151412.jpg20241105_151349.jpgLooks a lot worse in person.

so a lil back story..i had about half of what youve got in the pics, but specificaly i had mostly tyco, and vintage tyco, ..specificaly i got for xmas the tyco usa-1 trucking and train set..with slot car crossings and the rock island line trains....someone stole the vast majority of my trains stuff..and didnt touch my slot stuff

now see i left that pic up cause bottom right..that red and silver plymouth pusher is by far and away one of my all time favs..and its gone

i could have packed a minivan to the gills with what i had....love to kick someones ass

currently im re-angling the roofline of the house, which means a VERY large fully insulated finished attic...stage1 is 12x50 with close to 50 solar panels on it(ive got 32ft of it currently stagger finished)..stage 2 next year will add an aditional 18x20to it...so im going to have space to get my slots back out and id kill to have the trains again...id never even THINK about new..i want old worn and loved..so yeah id be seriously intrested and the wifes on board as she wants to do the modling work..ive also aquired a friends old 3d printer so i can play with making stuff from scratch

my plan since ive got TONS of the old usa-1 trucking stuff..is to do what tyco intended and do a slot n train integration with a full custom layout...im fully aware of the scale conflict so ill just have to fudge it a bit..course ive litteraly got tons of slot car stuff in general lol
