And what goes around comes around, right? I will die a happy man if I never hear Uncle Ted's big mouth again. The guy is loaded with talent, no doubt.
It's just when he opens his mouth to talk, I stop listening. But, the same can be said for many of his colleagues.
He seems to need help.Wes Scantlin
What? No way. You had heard it before though, right? Those are some of Neil's best lyrics, in the top 3 at least IMO.I would've laughed at that without the literal translation. How I'd never seen that video previously is beyond me; I watched a fair amount of MTV back when it was Music Television (early/mid-1980s) and somehow missed this one.
On second thought, the majority of my MTV consumption was Headbanger's Ball, so that might explain it.
I wondered if that was Aimee Mann in the video floating around with the boys. It was. She also sang on the original track.
I remember it when there were no advertisers and there was/is a FCC reg that they had to take a break every so often, so once an hour they would put on some blurred out stuff, reminiscent of what you got back then when you tried to tune in the playboy channel but hadn't paid for it.Oh, I've heard the song itself plenty. I wasn't aware that Aimee sang the female part, though.
"Voices Carry" is on my playlist in both the house and garage. Yes, I've absolutely seen the video for it, although I did need to see a still photo to jar my memory. I've always liked that song; it was one of my non-metal "guilty pleasures" at the age when my metalhead buddies desperately hid their ABBA and BeeGees albums (not joking; it was years before admissions started being made ).
Another guilty pleasure is/was Duran Duran's "The Reflex", so there's that... just that one song, though.
For the most part, I abandoned MTV when they started their first "series", that being Remote Control (a game show). If I wanted f__kin' game shows, CBS already had plenty. I had no use for "just another network" and tuned out. I did hang in with Headbanger's Ball in an ever-decreasing amount for a few years, but that was the only time I watched.
