What are you listening to right now?

Anybody out there? Bon says WAKE UP

I was 17 at the time, and probably saw them on that US tour. A local record shop stocked imports, so we knew about them before the majority did. So we were early AC/DC adopters, and to be fair, early rejecters after Bon died.

A new tune from a new band from Winnipeg.

One of the guitarists, Sam built my new guitar amp.
So, yeah I am pimping the band, but I AM listening to them.

This is on now:

Came across a playlist of Doom/Stoner/Sludge metal by a user on Youtube...been digging it hard the last few weeks!

Observations:

Higherlows cannot be successful in today's market. Their singer does not sound like Cookie Monster with strep throat. Today's music scene requires singers that not only can't sing, but won't have any voice whatsoever in five to seven years.

Orchid's slogan should be, "Suddenly it's 1972!" due to their carbon-copy Sabbath sound. I'm not hating on 'em--Sabbath ain't doin' it anymore--but I'll stick with the original. Also, the goat's horn looks like cheap flex pipe. :D

Not sure if you clicked on the "1/112" in the top right corner...that is the full playlist, and there are a ton of cool original sounding bands that are almost all new to me. Some are Meh...some I'm digging hard but I have not skipped past a single one so far. ;)

That's what I like about them.

I have zero patience for the cookie monster schtick.
I have a hard enough time hearing the actual lyrics in songs without that kind of thing going on.

I hear the melody that is being sung. It takes me forever to get all of the words unless I'm reading off a lyric sheet. When I do that, I'm usually saying to myself, "Really? THOSE are the words?"

[Jimi Hendrix voice]'scuse me while I kiss this guy.[/Jimi Hendrix voice]

These guys were actually a couple of years too early ride the wave of resurgence in classic-style rock music we've seen since Greta Van Fleet appeared.

since Greta Van Fleet appeared
Not a good thing IMO. Other than for the comedic value.
