What are you listening to right now?

An original demo song for Live's "Throwing Copper", which I think is better than a couple of songs they released on the album.

Haven't replied to this for a while. Right now, it's Deep Purple's Bad Attitude. Honestly, I like DP's 80's tunes (Ian Gillan fronted) as well as anything they did in the 70's.

Now, Blue Oyster Cult's Take Me Away. Simply the best, and quite possibly the only song about someone wanting to be abducted by aliens.

This and the names that I had posted on FB yesterday is all part of one of my guitar classes.
While I was taking the class, I didn't have time to listen to the stuff I was learning.

Now, I am able to listen to this stuff while working.
I'm hoping some of it will sink in.

There is no music so raw and so true as those old blues tunes. The talent those guys had was incredible and most never had any kind of training or teaching at all. Passion was what drove them.

It's not for everyone, but anybody who really likes music should give them a listen. :)

To me, I don't know a lot of the artist's names or their historys, but every time some blues music is playing nearby I give them an ear. It's feel-good music at it's finest.

I agree.

A lot of these players are new to me.

It's interesting having a guitar instructed from L.A.
It brings a whole different groups in influences in to the picture.

And being a touring musician, he hears more new stuff in his travels and brings it to my attention. It's pretty cool.

Sometimes, well spend more time talking about music than learning to play. That's fine because I see that as part of the curriculum.

I stopped the classes a while back, but I think I need to get back into them again soon.

Celebration Day.

A co-worker saw the movie, said it was ok, 'cept for Robert Plant's voice.
The local morning DJ is constantly mouthing off about it.
Nodda posted on FB how much he enjoyed it.

So I downoaded the abum on I Tunes.
$9.99, a deal.

It's freaking AWESOME!

There is nothing wrong with Robert Plant's vocals, at all (even though I always thought he was a little over-the-top).
Jason Bonham is just about as good as the old Man. :)

Highly recommended!

My daughter singing "It's a Hard Knock Life" which I will hear a lot of in the next couple of months as she got a big part in the community theater production of Annie. woot!

Cranking some tunes while I work (pretty typical actually) but wanted something a little different so I'm jamming some Jap hair metal this morning. Love this guys voice.
