Now I'm listening to drag race videos on Youtube. Haven't raced since October. I'm starting to get the shakes.

I am neither a fan of anime, nor am I particularly interested in Japanese culture, but a friend of mine is obsessive about both. He forwarded me this link, and I was pretty impressed with it.

Now I'm listening to my 12 year old daughter singing "Reprise" from Beauty and the Beast. It still absolutely astounds me that I produced a child that can sing....and sing very well. Well enough to get picked for the school's "Beauty and the Beast" musical that more than 200 kids auditioned for. And she became Belle's stand-in, which is phenomenal for a 6th grader.

Let's just say that I cannot sing. At all. I am proud....yet jealous of her abilities. :D

I used to be able to sing quite well. I could even do a wicked Robert Plant, regardless of song. Then I got karate-chopped in the throat by a "friend" making a point. Since then, it's been Louis Armstrong on karaoke and songs that I consider funny, like "Word Up" by Cameo or "Electric Avenue" by Eddy Grant. He destroyed my vocal range, no joke. Of course, I haven't done karaoke in over a year...

I had not heard this version of the song until today. There are certain parts I like a little better, but the original still beats it, particularly the guitar solo (of course, they didn't have Marty Friedman in 2007).

I guarantee that you are still a way, WAY better singer than me, even with a karate-chopped throat.

I've made babies cry with my singing.
