What are you listening to right now?

The whir of my computer's power-supply fan, soon to be replaced by the scream of The Compressor of Hate, the whine of an angle grinder, and the buzz of a MIG welder. If I get far enough, I'll listen to the hiss of a spray gun shooting primer and base, but that's not likely tonight.

im not listening to my fav net station that id been listening to for many an age......i died a net death and has slipped off the radar..with rumors of it possible returning in a year.....

this sucks!!!!

Currently listening to my ears ringing like crazy after a Black Label Society concert! Zakk Wylde (singer/lead guitar) of BLS used to play guitar for Ozzy til very recently. I managed to catch a drum stick and one of Zakk's guitar picks!!:fishy:

Cowboy Junkies: Sweet Jane.

A superior cover of an awesome classic. Incredibly depressing but oddly beautiful as well.

Same album has a cover of I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry that could lead to one slashing their own wrists......even if they started in a good mood.

I've never heard the cover version of it, but Hank's original is a pretty powerful cry if one listens closely.

In fact, I don't think I've ever heard anything by the Cowboy Junkies.

*goes off to Youtube*

The Cowboy Junkies blend country, jazz and blues to create something different from the usual. I'm not a big country fan, but when music is so unique...and good.....

Sweet Jane and Lonesome were recorded in 1988 on an album called The Trinity Session. The entire album was recorded in a Toronto church using one high-quality stereo microphone. The "mixing" of the album is strictly from the musicians playing dynamically...and yet it still sounds better than most albums recorded today, albiet with a somewhat elevated noise floor.

Good music, good musicianship, good production....

Ok since you started the Hatebreed kick, (awesome band live by the way) here's their cover of Slayer - Ghosts of War
