That ain't no reason to quit!

Your young!

-Get out there with a shovel, dig it out and get back to work....

When I was in my 20's I would be workin' on it right where she sits. :dgt:

No garage available.

On a side note I scored some sweet 408 stroker parts and have a line on a 518 OD for this car and am also in the process of looking for a 5.9 Magnum core.

I also managed to dig up a set of 3.91 gears and a 9.25 SG.

That is all. :shifty:

So I found a 5.9 Magnum core outta a '98 Durango and I'm gonna go pick it up next weekend.

Still looking for a 518.

Opinions? :shifty:

So I can't pick up my 5.9 untill the 25th.

Still can't find a 518 for decent money.

On a side note though I should have my truck back together in just a couple more weekends! The end is near! :giggedy:

Picked up my '97 5.9 block and heads today! :giggedy:

So I gave her a tune up last weekend.

Plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

Removed all unnecessary smog crap including the vapor canister.

"unwired" and removed the factory "Lean Burn" and rewired and replaced it with an FBO Igniton kit complete with VA Distributor.

Adjusted the kickdown linkage to the proper setup.

And FINNALY installed my replacement power antenna, you know.......since the original one was completely annihilated since I didn't even have all the pieces of it when I bought the car. :D

Runs MUCH better now.

She don't stall stopping for the lights anymore. :D :giggedy:

Found out too the the slop in my steering is 100% inside the steering box.

Is there a way to adjust that or is it off to NAPA for a replacement?

You can try the nut/screw thing on the top or side, I haven't had much luck with it though.

Yeah, best to leave that alone as messing with it usually will do more harm than good. I've seen 'em adjusted to far causing the box to bind, not a good thing.

If you feel you simply must screw with it...1/2 to mayyybe 1 turn is all you can safely turn it and that's usually not enough to make a noticable difference. I'd replace it with a firm feel unit and be done.
