Project Fur-Kota!

going for hernia surgery on the 18th trying to get the car home before the big day. The rear axle is under the fury we are waiting for correct u bolts. the spring packs in the Fury are quite large he said 8 leafs? can't remember that but when stock she did sit quite "Proud" plus there was a hitch so who knows. Still to be done, upper support across the rad has to be remade to fit around the Dak rad. finish welding the mount tabs for the front subframe U bolts installed and column reconnected so I can steer the beast.

My homework is to reassemble the dist out of the Dart so I can move it back out of the Garage. My buddy Ted came over and helped me get the Dart running so we could get the Fury out of the garage but he said the dist was stuck on full advance and I should disassemble and check out the advance weights. after disassembling every thing seems fine the weights have one light spring and the slotted heavier spring. The weights move freely but I am curious how the vac canister goes back in. The lever arm for the VA was sandwiched in between the base plate and the plate with the pickup (electronic) on it. it was kind of tricky to get it out and I'm pretty sure I did not use the correct method to get it out. I'm sure I haven't damaged any of the parts but is there a trick to put this sucker back together does anyone have an exploded view of an electronic vac advance dist?

Thanks agan for all your input and knowledge.

Thanks, I've been through this before once already and I'm not even 40 yet.

I got the distributor back together it was much easier going together than coming apart.

Well I'm home from the surgery still a little light headed but i'm up and aboot. I've been thinking about the hood clearance issue, the dakota TB hat too tall and I have to think it is about as low as I can go with the beer keg manifold so I have been looking at other options to drop it down, one that came up which will just drop in is the (Mopar Performance 5007790 Single Plane) already has bungs drilled and I know they make an adapter to put the stock TB on this but I'm unsure about the height with and without the adapter. Does anybody know where i could find this data?

The keg is 7.5 inches from top of the block to TB mounting surface, and I believe the Mopar M1 for magnums is the same height.

As always any help from those in the know wouldbe great.

BTW the Fury was supposed to come home Monday before the surgery but was delayed. Still on Sunday I went out to the Garage to make sure the Dart would be mobile for the Fury arrival. The accelerator pump on one side of the carb is not working but a little splash of gas down the throat and it fired right up nice and easy I should have known right then that the Fury would not make it on Monday. sigh it is now scheduled to arrive on Saturday.

Well glad your home and on the mend. Your fury is looking good. Not sure about the induction system. I checked out some pics of the aftermarket unit and it sure is set-up high.

Good news on the progress and being on the mend.

I have to do that soon. I have to trim down first so the repair will take better.

Nice! I wasn't sure how it was going to come together, but thats a really sweet ride!

Glad you're feeling better!

I realize you are just looking to drop an intake on with no mods, but the air gap for the mag motor would give almost 2.25" more clearance to work with. Of course the bungs would have to be welded in, but it might give you the clearance needed.

I think that car would look bitchin' with a Ramcharger hoodscoop. :hmmm:

Came across these pics a while back it doesn't look bad with a scoop but it needs the 66-67 B body scoop

The supervictor comes with bungs drilled but that might be a little much for a stock 5.2.

I even noticed a difference with mine with the 2bbl m1 and the stock cam. Didn't really match up well performance wise. But it might be ok with a few other mods along the way. As for the dimensions on the 5007790, Mancini suggested calling Rich or Evan at the mopar tech line 1800528hemi.

Mopar Tech line says that intake with the Stock TB adapter is the same height as the Beer barrel. And the adapter is 2 1/4 inches tall so I could gain 2 1/4 inches by switching to the older style manifold.

BTW Mopar Tech line is 1 888 528 HEMI
