Pic of the day.

First snow of the season this weekend, the new tires work great. :)

How do you like the Kendas beep? The versions I've peeked at seem to be made of harder than most rubber compound. Not that this is much of a concern for your application there........

Been pleased with the Kenda brand so far. The 270's I ran all summer have proven to be a capable 50/50 tire, I've put about 3000 miles on these and the front still looks like new with the rear at 50%. Decent handling on the road and good traction from the rear off road. The front suffers some off road in loose conditions but they get the job done and the price is right.

These Trakmasters are certainly more aggressive with a definate nod to the off road worthyness, hard to believe these are a D.O.T. approved tire. Only a handfull of miles on these to date, will need more seat time to form an overall opinion but so far the off road traction is superb. [smilie=::

Oh that's easy, KLR 650. Reliable as a stone axe and will take a ton of abuse. Plenty enough power for the open highway, good handling, A comfortable go anywhere you desire bike. There is a huge wealth of info out there on these bikes and enormous aftermarket support. I could go on and on about these machines but will just say this. If I could have only one bike the KLR would be it. [smilie=::

A couple hundred yards upstream....

what do tires run you?....and hwy speeds to me =70mph

For summer riding the Kenda 270's do nicely. The KLR will do 70 all day if you want, but no true dual sport is comfortable for long at those speeds IMO. The bigger bikes such as a BMW R1200GS or KTM Adventure are more suited for long distance high speed rides. The KLR isn't perfect for any one thing but it's capable to do it all.

thats kinda what i figured..a dual would suit for back and forth to the shop..hour drive with a mix of hwy freeway and gravel...and id need something bbigger for my runs 250 miles 1 way to bc

Nothing like the snow in XL's yard but we got some good accumulation here in London last week.

You got buried last week!
Now it's xl's turn.

We got it pretty bad in Niagara, but not so much right in St Catharines.
It's worse up on top of the escarpment - as usual.

ya- buried here since sunday night! can see some blue sky right now with a -20 temp!!! with up to another 15cm to come.
ah- the great white north- psst- ya can keep it!!

We got a fair amount in Strathroy, but the worst hit thru the 402 between here and Sarnia.
Over 300 cars and tractor trailers are out on that stretch blocking the highway and can't move. They are trying to free it up now.

Not one soul lost. Lots of friendly folks out there opening hearts and homes. No Bitchen just get out there and help. Makes me feel all warm and emotional when I think about it.

I heard of a woman that took in 50 people that were stranded along the road in front of her house.
She was running on generator at this point too.
Everyone pitched in and made trips out to siphon off fuel to keep the generator going.

there have been reports of a man on a snow mobile wearing a pink bunny suit cruising up and down the 402 looking for stray truckers.

I have some suspicion that it is XL, but it has not be confirmed yet.
