I did these over 3 years ago now, on the crewcab. And the tires on the wagon probably close to 8 years. I have touched up the wagon letter once in that time. They will crack a little, and if you don't do a darn good job cleaning them before painting them, then the dye will flake off. But they hold up really well. Not sure if I'd do wide whites with it, but the lettering works well. Easy to touch up too if you happen to scuff a curb. ;)

You have to have your tires mounted on your rims first. Then I scrub the tires with simple green and a coarse nylon brush...again and again and again. Then use white paper towels and acetone to clean the rubber even more. Use a new fine wire brush and a bit of acetone to scrub the letters as well. I go until the paper towel, soaked in acetone, wipes almost clean. Believe me this can take a long time!! Once the tires are clean then I use just a rattle can vinyl/rubber dye and spray it into a small container. Then sit down and start painting. Slow tedious work. By the time your done all four tires you can start your second coat.

Wow! That sounds about as much fun as a all night dentist!

Hey, Fishstick... I got this in an e-mail (along with a bunch of other Mopar truck stuff for sale):

1. (2) 36 x 12.5-15 TSL Super Swampers $300.00/pair
2. (2) 35 x 14.5 – 15 Swamper Boggers (New) $600.00/pair
3. (2) 16/35-15LT Swamper Boggers - $300.00/pair
4. (2) 16/35 – 15LT CUT Swamper Boggers - $500.00/pair
5. (4) 15 x 10 Aluminum wheels w/beadlocks & removable centers, comes w/2 different centers. $300.00/all

That last one seemed rather interesting...

Shipping is going to be the deal breaker! It cost me $65.00 to ship you that Dayton indy car tire!

Those rims definitely got my interest. Wonder if cost of shipping vs. cost of rims would be worth it. I'm a broke mofo so, I wouldn't be ready to financially commit until February/early March when I get my taxes back. Think he'd sit on em that long? :helpme:

You'd have to get in touch with him. Perhaps if you paid him for the wheels now, and worried about the shipping later... or even went in installments. I'm guessing the shipping would probably be around $25-$35 per wheel (they are aluminum, after all) if you went with FedEx.

When I bought my 235/85/16 Load range E tires for the crewcab out of California, that is what it cost me...$25 each. Not bad IMO.

Yes, but you shipped it UPS. FedEx likely would've been half that, or less. UPS drivers are unionized, while FedEx drivers have to bid for their routes and buy/maintain their own vehicles. (except FedEx Freight). Plus, if Fishy can access a corporate account, it's even less expensive.

The boss was cleaning out some old stuff yesterday, and found a brand-new aftermarket RH taillamp lens for your Ramcharger. Interested?

I was going to put it in the For Sale area, but figured FishPole and you would be the only two interested. Make an offer on it.
