What are you listening to right now?

Man, I haven't even thought about that song in years... yet another one I'll have to drag out, as soon as I'm done with The Cult - Rise.

Nice. Just saw Heart in a local theater a couple weeks ago. They were very, very good, even tho the Wilson Sisters are the only ones who remain from the original.

Pearl Jam - Corduroy

I was talking to J.C. Corbett on the phone last night, and your varying songs reminded me of telling him how I wished I had more-diverse musical tastes, like my brother does. If you walk into Dave's house and pop the tray on his old 5-disc carousel, you may well find Megadeth, Garth Brooks, Run-DMC, The Jackson Five, and Bach... set on random. He'll go from "Rockin' Robin" to "High Speed Dirt" to "Friends in Low Places" to "Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin" without ever blinking an eye at how eclectic the selections are.

I think it drives his wife nuts, but I'm not sure. :D

Doc, Being in the business I'm in, one is exposed to a wide variety of music produced by absolutely astounding musicians. I have friends who range from metal guitarist/vocalists to jazz pianists and folk bands and everything else in between. To me, musical genre means nothing - it's all about how the music speaks to me.

Still can't stand rap/hip-hop or commercial pop-country tho..... :dgt: I have found nothing of value there.

Currently:

Paul Butterfield - Blues With A Feeling

Nothing really comes to mind as far as current country goes, but I've got to admit that Anthrax's I'm The Man, I'm The Man '91, and Bring the Noise (with Public Enemy) I find entertaining and really like. I'd also be a liar if I didn't admit I like Eminem's Lose Yourself, but that's about it as far as rap/hip-hop goes... and I don't like Eminem one bit.

Only thing rap - ish that has appealed to me in the least has been some stuff melded with metal, like Saliva or Faith No More. But even then, more than one song in a row makes me wish I were somewhere else.
