Really really bad day. I'm not sure why it happened...

Actually now that I write all that down...considering it was a small class (by NYC standards) of only 350 or so... that's a lot of shit to go down in only 4 years! Not to mention at least one kid in my class (Tim Welty) who was one of the firemen in the towers on 9/11.

I think my class was 125 when I graduated. And that was a large group for that school. I can't imagine 350.

I got into a race war type fight in 9th grade and was arrested along with 73 other fellow student after we were released from the hospital. I had a concussion, 17 sticthes, a fractured wrist and a charge of inciting a riot.

not my best day at school. man the 70s were fun.

Dude, come on. you can't argue with the fact that you shouldn't have been doing your math homework in class. The teacher had every right to take it away from you. But on the other hand, she shouldn't have looked at the kid's text message. Anyway, GET OVER IT!!!!! OH MY GAWD!!! I GOTTA DO MY MATH HOMEWORK AGAIN!!!!! OH NO!!!!!! Come on. Unfortunatly, you and me live in Randolph, the most rich, stuck up, conceited, lazy herion addicted town in the freakin united states of america. although it sucks, it's not exactly Camden. Consider yourself lucky. :naughty:

m_m, creeps is right...

there was a heroin bust at RHS about a year ago.

and yeah, i think i've learned my lesson here. Listen in class and try not to be an idiot.

and if someone gets their cell taken away, laugh at them, dont' yell at the teacher.

teachers are trying to prepare and civilize students for the real world utimately. if a beep went off in a work setting /meeting you can imagine the reactions. the teacher hopefully reminded about the manners and professionalism involved and the secondary lesson about the hw thing. don't sweat the small stuff. there's a bigger picture to sweat.

We have the opposite problem here, friggin directors will stop in mid sentence to start F'ing around with their crackberries/ cell phones:mad:
We had one ass get up and leave the meeting for over 5 minutes before he stuck his head in the door and said "Oh, sorry about that, you can all leave".

I came from a larger school, cell phones were prohibited...but that rule wasn't really followed. The students had the respect to have theirs turned off or on silent, but pretty much all of us were armed with one.

Then again, it was a common site to see a police car or a police detention bus picking up or dropping off kids, plus we had a police officer stationed in our school as well as police trained security guards (and our school really wasn't that bad compared to some other schools near me).

But back to the cell phone thing, he have had numours situations when a cell phone came to the rescue since the lines in the class are only connected to the school except for a few classes that need an outside line for emergancies (autos, metal and wood working, advanced baking/cooking).

And the teacher reading the text thing...its a 50/50 issue there, like stated before, with the world we live in, that could've been a message for any type of violent act tword the class, teacher, or a student after class. But it could also just have been a simple little "i luv u" or "hang out 2nit?"

Now the homework thing....can't help you there man (*whispers...thats what studyhall is for), let him do his work, but offer to help him if he needs it (by help i mean show him a problem or two, see if he gets it, not do the whole damn thing for him and have him write his name on it)

You sound like a smart guy, don't get caught up in bad things like that, yeah we all do our share of dumbass things, we still will. But try to keep it to a minimum. Like my dad always told me "think before you act".

i currently attend college (when they are not on strike) and it has always been a rule in both colleges i have attended that if your cell rang in class you were booted out of class and not to come back until you were cleared by the dean of the program. Usually it was a quick meeting and you were back in class the next day. (some professors didnt care so much as others) It was very frustrating to the students that wanted to be in class to learn and being interupted by a cell phone ringing. I would argue with the student that i paid my tuition to learn and not to be interupted by his stpuidity.
