Please say this is true!!!

I hope not. Did anyone see what the new Charger is actually going to look like? Chrysler needs to stop with bringing back the classic names and such.

Paint it black and loose the God awfull diamond pleat upholstery [smilie=e: ....Then I might consider it.

Is nice to see RWD V/8 cars making a comeback though. [smilie=c:

It's true... it's just an aftermarket conversion.

It's certainly more deserving of letter status than any 300M.

I want 2 door fill my pants muscle car.... [smilie=e: stop with the redo of everything old......gimme a fill my pants kind of car....

That's all it was in 1970... except it didn't have a Hurst shifter--it had that hunk of sh!t, ugly-as-sin A-body/1966-70 B-body console unit or a column shift.

So, what's the problem?

God i love you guys that think the 60's or even early 70's are comin back. :D

Slammed, the fact that we are in a different decade - actually - millenium does not make that thing any less ugly.

Many of us learned a long time ago that "new" does not always mean "improved."

It may handle better, drive better, even go faster - but it still looks ugly doin' it - and it has two too many doors. I'm happy that you like it and may have the resources to buy it, but it ain't to my taste - so I would not buy one if I could afford it. I think I have the right to express that opinion - even if'n I am a po'boy who could never buy one.

That was not my point, slammed. If you like a 4 door - good for you. I don't happen to like the looks of most of them. Nor should I have to say I do because some one else does.

4dr's look good on certain bodys...all i see is a benz with hurst paint and a fake hemi trying to steel a heritage not desirving of the scrap beer cans and milk jugs its built with....i still have a problem with not seeing the plug wires comeing out of the covers....that horid shroud...ick....i wonder how this would all look on the magnum wagon [smilie=e:

imo 4drs look good on HUGE cars like 70s caddys imperials and such..otherwise a 4dr only looks good in wagon form

new is not always an improvement let alone better

70 also had a glass hood w/ scoop special deck lid and a real motor
Whateber. The new one will kick the sh!t out of the '70 in a drag race, even though the weight is similar (the current model weighs around 4150lbs--without the "benefit" of wavy glass panels). Why? Because the PolyHemi makes considerably more power than your "real" 440TNT. 345 net HP is a bunch more than 375 gross--deal with it.

Sorry, guys, but like 'em or not, today's cars are generally better performers than those of yore--straight-line and otherwise.

Me... I'll take a 13-second RWD V8 any time... and that's what they're offering now. Other than the door count, we're back to the V8s and rear-wheel drive everyone's been screaming about for twenty years... and what do we get? Bitching about them not being "real" cars.
