Rob - I'm thinkin' the car won't see the sun 'til spring...but we will see...

Here's half a day's work today:

Pic #1: It's a shame when you gotta use rubbing compound on new paint, but the bodyshop didn't mask the underhood paint real well before spraying the outside finish coat and I ended up with sanding dust trapped under overspray...it cleaned up OK but took a couple hours to fix.

Pic #2: Step one in putting the grille & front back on the car was installing the headlight buckets. Of course one of the plastic inserts that the screws go into broke. Anyone got one?

Pic #3: Put the bumper on & aligned it's brackets before mounting the grille. It has to come off again before the grille goes on, but at least it's lined up properly.

Pic#4: the grille goes in pretty slick. The '72 park light sockets don't fit the '71 grille .... anyone got a couple of those???

Then got the marker lights on as well as the lower fender braces. Put the bumper back on and done for the day...

Wouldn't it be both easier and cheaper to make the sockets work with the grille? Or just splice some '71 sockets onto the wiring? I KNOW you got enough wiring that you could donate to the cause if you didn't want to hack up the original to the car.
