Jester's Progress...

I don't have to worry about fitting into a tacoma... I'm like a penis length shorter than you, cow. 9 or 10" shorter :)

and about 100 lbs. less of a man. I was circumsized :D

cow youd fit in my cuda...i flip swaped the seat tracks..you end up with less than 6 inches between the front seat and back seat tho :D

jester come down and pick up this 1980(its a pop top!!) ramcharger ive got here 318 with a 4brl full time 4x...need a little going over but i did drive it home

Thanks, but I don't want to go through the export/import process with a vehicle ever again. Sounds like a pretty cool truck though :)

My 92 Dakota 4X4 with the 3.9 V/6 would get 17-18 MPG and had plenty load carrying capability. When I sold it there was 184,000 miles on it and it's still going strong, the new owner loves it as his quad runner fits in the bed perfectly.

I'd look for a 92-95 model, they are tough little trucks. :)

Got a letter from ICBC today. They approved my Collector plate application, but the Dart has to pass Aircare emissions testing and then I get to call ICBC to tell them it passed, then they'll send me an acceptance package, I take it up to my insurance office and they order my collector plates.

So it should be good to go in a month or two :D Good thing it's winter, and I'm in no rush to drive it.

Right on Jester!!! :2thumbs:

Friggin scam you have to pass Aircare once before they will give you your plates and insurance....Just another money grab.

total scam. I have to put a day or two insurance on it so I can drive the car to an Aircare station. $$ is adding up ;)

But $300 per year insurance is worth it, I guess.

Finally, I had time and there was no snow on the ground. Converted the points ignition over to Electronic... New Distributor, Ignition module, harness, blaster II coil, cap & rotor, ballast resistor, spark plugs etc. Fresh oil and Napa gold filter.

Filled it up with Regular and got out on the highway to clear out some carbon. :) For a little slant 6, she seems to pull nicely right up to 90mph where I start to grip the wheel tighter and clench the 'ol sphincter.

Anyways, drove to the aircare emission centre, paid the fee, crossed my fingers and proceeded to have it tested. Result: PASS

I get my collector plates tomorrow afternoon :)

I love Ohio for the Historical Plates. Car has to be more than 25 years old (so that bypasses E-Check), plates cost $45.00, can hang model year plate on the car (just marry the plate to your Historical #) and best of all, they last 50 years! I kid you not, 50 years. I did a double take when I saw the registration and asked the clerk if that was right. it is! Haggerty insured my Dart w/318 for $113.00 a year. same coverage as my other cars. With a agreed upon value of $10K.
As for tats, my ex has 2 cherry's on on her Lt boob, this past summer she was showing some cleavage when I picked up our granddaughter. The cherry's are starting to look like cyan peppers.:bwuhaha:

Glad to hear you passed and that she's running well.

I'm surprised they emissions-test that far back. Hell, in most counties MI doesn't emissions test at all.

What's surprising is it doesn't idle as smoothly as I'd like. Figured it would fail the idle test, but passed with flying colours.

Feels like it's missing on 1 cyl, and does this little pfft pfft thing out the tailpipe. No smoke though. I'm guessing a valve or two are overtightened. Gonna have to re-adjust them and see if it helps.

My guess would be either not enough lash, or burnt valves. If it's been run a long time on unleaded fuel, you could have bad seats. Though it's a CA car, I'd be surprised to find it's got hardened exhaust seats in it. While performance and mileage will obviously suffer, it can live a long and happy life running on 'em burnt or with pounded seats, but I'd suggest lead additive or a lead substitute with every fill.

The big thing is that some day, you (and I) will be 70 years old, and if you have to tell the story about why you've got the mark, you should've never gotten it in the first place. That's why I have only one tat.

LOL that reminds me of my dads friend Duke who had "born to raise hell......Duke"

The tatoo artist and Duke sobered up his arm read "Born to raise ducks"

"Born to raise ducks" :bwuhaha: That's awesome! Try to explain that one to your grandkids... :D

That, in turn, reminds me of one of my Dad's close friends. He had a tattoo on his forearm that was heavily blurred from time. I asked him about it when I was small:

Me: What's that?
Bob: A tattoo.
Me: Of what?
Bob: A mermaid.
Me: It doesn't look like a mermaid. It looks like a bruise.
Bob: I got it a long time ago, during the war [World War II].
Me: Why?
Bob: I was in the Navy. We all got tattoos.
Me: You shouldn't have got it in the boat.

I believe that's the only time I've seen a Manhattan come out through a nose, much less two.

I'd be surprised to find it's got hardened exhaust seats in it.

Hardened exhaust seats started in '72 for the slant. I'll start with compression test and go from there, if the valve adjustment doesn't help.

Hardened exhaust seats started in '72 for the slant.
They started in '72 for all the engines, but were far from universal on any of them. It was kind of a shotgun affair--I've had more than one pair of '72-'73 heads that weren't hardened and have even run across a pair of early '74s ('73 casting date) that lacked the hardened seats. Only a machinist knows for sure.

When I did the '72 440 that ended up in the Black Bitch, I was assured by the Mopar Gods that the heads would have hardened seats (this was 1992). They did not... nor did the '72 J heads for my 318, nor did a set of '73 small-block 360 heads I had years ago. Also, a friend of mine's "guaranteed hardened" early-'74 big-block heads (452s, if memory serves) were soft-seat. From what I've seen, until you get into 1974 casting dates, nothing is guaranteed. I've also had two pair of hardened-seat '72 J-heads from 340s; one from a Windsor-built car and another from an LA-built car.

All that notwithstanding, I still think it's a lash issue or burnt valves.

What sucks is I scrapped a rebuilt head from a '72 about 8 years ago. Didn't think I'd ever own another Dart. ah well.
