Hot days, cold nights turning into freakin hot days.
Food sucks unless you are on a good base.
Everyone is willing to take a pot shot at ya..with real bullets and bombs.
The real nut bars don't give up. If you are busy pumping 5 or ten rounds in to a dude who won't give up, it leaves your a$$ open.
Everything has a bomb on it.
Can't piss in the field without worring about getting blown up.
Real Fun.
Lot's of blood and guts after a good firefight.

But I had to go cross the border like an idiot.
Then I went inside the U.S Custom office like I was asked.
Two parts of being young and stupid.
I married an American chick in the early Regan years and and to get papers quicker I signed up for Selective Service to shoot commies in Lebanon.
And they are taking whoever.
