Bye-bye Scamp, hello Buick GN?

why not buy a turbo k-car and simply adjust the boost by putting in a grainger ..still mopar and still balls to the wall at 1/8th of the cost

I have had a few turbo cars and would do it again ( maybe the 66) I have had friends with GN fast car but he had to spend a lot to keep it running. I am a die hard MoPar fan and would not concider anything else but thats me.. In '87 I looked at a new buick GN then got a Shelby Lancer turbo it was a great car... Lots of room and quick lots of parts to build. I loved that car hit and run driver killed it.

You do what you with to do I have gone to the dark side ( non MoPar ) and paid the price as hard as I drive only MoPars hold up.

My 2c

A young fella who comes around every now and again took me for a ride in his GN and it's quick for 230 ci... suprised the heck out of me...it's got a down pipe and some other small things...I believe it goes 11.00[smilie=2:

LOOKOUT!!! Its Maurice Clarrett!! He's got a gun!!!

Required OSU jabbing aside, GNs are REALLY nice units. IF you can get past the funky angled steering column, and granma's dashboard. I didn't notice the steering column at first, but after I did, it won't leave my mind. Everytime I see one, I notice it.

Still they can be scary fast, and totally sedate at the same time. I prefer the plain T-Type Regals (w/o the black scheme) myself. Way nasty sleepers.

They do kick ass. My buddy has one, It's kinda cool when ya power brake it. I just checked with him and found out it's for sale now.
Lemme know if want me to pass on his info. It's here in Toledo.

How'd your team do this year?

No, seriously, how'd they do? I'm sure no one here knows, since none of us follow 13th grade-caliber college football. [smilie=p: :)

I like em! Besides, think how cool I would look pulling a black 87 with my white Denali! :D Hey, what do you guys feel about "GM-nuts"? :D:D:D *runs*

Whaaa? :( Bummer. *swigs Beer*

That is one of the cars I will buy some day soon, Nodda. I say go for it!

My next vehicle shall be... an RCMP highway pursuit vehicle :)

I need to talk with the Sammich man.

heh heh heh...We don't have the player salary budget that OSU does...

But apparently our old Athletic Director is good enough for OSU. [smilie=p:Smith actually did a good job cleaniung up the mess that our prevous clowns left him. Im sure he'll do a good job in Columbus.

PS: What school did you go to, again?? ;) Actually Miami of OH, looks to have done fairly well. Why no bowl game?? Are they one of those schools who turns down the invites, as a matter of policy??

A GN does sound like a damn good car for your needs.I've always really liked the turbobricks, quick mothers.I'd go for a 86 t-type limited myself.Like the grandma sleeperness of it.Hope you have a laptop. :toot:

I was an Ohio State fan long before I was a Miami University student.

They didn't go to a bowl game because they didn't win the conference championship. The MAC isn't a big draw, so there aren't bowl games lined up for the 4th place MAC team vs. the 4th place Sun Belt team. :bwuhaha:

Still trying to put all the pieces together on the Scamp vs. GN thing.

So you did not like my idea of a turbo lancer? Have you found a GN? Eather way if you get a good turbo it can be a very good car a bad one may take some sorting out even more so if it is not a water cooled turbo, ( like the 2.2 turbo) unless you want to replace the turbo make sure it builds boost.

An interesting suggestion, but not what I'm looking for. I have no burning need to stick with a Mopar in this case. We've still got the Valiant. I've looked at a really nice GN, and the guy is also a Mopar nut, too. Very nice guy. I'm just trying to get everything together and see if I can make this happen.
