Building Project.

Just curious, what did the garage set you back all told?

With the fancy new lights, the natural gas heater with hookup, concrete coating and all the extra yard work required. Just a hair over $20,000 all said, done and moved in. I had budgeted for $15,000 but needed way more fill hauled in then estimated and decided to go with natural gas heating.

The concrete was $2,800.

The building package with insulation, exterior sheeting/wrapping, metal roofing, doors, window and vynil siding was $11,650

The natural gas heater was $900. Going to be about $1,000 to hook up.

Natural gas line and trencher rental was $600.

All the electrical was about $3,000.

Interior sheeting was $500.

Paint was $600.

You gotta learn how to stay out of the line of fire. :naughty:

Never be in-line with the wire-wheel, whether it's bench or hand-held. I much prefer to digging the wires out of my gloves or pantleg.

Never ever had one actually stick into my skin.

you have been a VERY lucky soul lol......i once wirewheels an entire long box 69 chev frame all suspension most of the box most of the cab..15- 20 wire cups later off my angle grinder....they would litteraly go all the way thru multiple layers of jeans jean shirts with a flanel on..stick into the walls of the garage ceiling etc...8 or so years later helping my neighbor in his garage up in the attic..while going up the crawl space i stopped and had a look at the ceiling(previous neighbor rented the house that i did the truck) and sure enuf the ceiling was littered with hundreds of them lil twisted bastards

its not always about being in the line of fire cause alot of times its the ricochets that kick your ass.....litteraly...when your pulling them out of your ass thru both layers of jean and pocket!!!!

When it's literally embedded in your skull, you'll know it. Trust me. You can't just pluck it out with your fingers... your hand isn't strong enough.

Oh, by the way... yes, it hurts like hell. I shudder to think about if I'd not been wearing safety glasses and that wire took a line toward my eye. For as far as it was into the bone, it may have well gone through and put a nice poke into my frontal lobe... no joke.

Of course, life might seem easier now had it gone down that way... :D

I'm not saying it would have killed me, I'm just saying that an inadvertent lobotomy might have made things a little easier with which to cope. I wouldn't get nearly as wound up as I do about being this broke. :D

Oh the whole "Life is easier when your simple minded." :D
