Has anyone seen a thermal window shatter on its own. I have a garden window in my kitchen and when my wife came home yesterday the inside pane was shattered. Does anyone know if I can replace just the glass unit (both pieces of glass) or will I have to replace the "WHOLE" window.

YOU can replace the glass. shoul be a trim piece on the inside. remove it and clean the caulking from around it and pull it out. the put one back in. put in silicon before you install the new windom and the be-careful with the trim . try to put the trim on the way it came out and leave the nails on the trim so yu don,t have to start them again.. this way you wontbreak a new windoe and let the silocn seep thru the trim to help hold it in. put back together and clean up . paint it later.i use to install --ORVIL:giggedy:

well replacement glass for this window is n/a so I priced a new one.......$1,000 plus the install[smilie=2:. Looks like I'll be replacing it with a std window $150. The only good thing is only the inside pane broke so it can wait till spring

yikes! Lots of those windows are built around the glass.....not with glass laid in. We had some issues with one of the gas filled models blowing up in houses....cracked the shit outta the glass. Manufactor replaced em all. ;)
