'72 Chally.

Hard to tell from the picture, but that's either Q1 or K1; my money's on K1.

I can say that it's not Q1. I'm not sure what it is, but I do know that it's not a '68 color. It does look to be a variation of corporate blue.

No, you really can't. It changes the color drastically... a lot more than you'd think. It would take a whole bunch of tinting to put it back to the original hue with that much metallic added. Been there, done that, had to issue the refund even though it was the customer's fault.

In bright sunlight, that could be B5... Hard to tell.

With some colours you can add all the metallic you want and you might never see them. If the colours are toner heavy, they'll bury any efforts at metallics and pearls. Only if there is enough binder/fortifier/drier in a formula will you ever be able to see metal or pearl.
As Doc said, adding metallic in any amount outside of a given paint formula will alter the base and tone of the colour. It's a no-no.

B5 and Q1 both have more red in them. I'm pretty certain that's K1.

When mixing paints such as Lesonal or Sikkens that don't use a binder, it's nearly impossible. The best bet is to mix up 3/4 of a gallon and hope like hell you can tint it back to the right shade after adding metallics or pearls. As I'm sure Restoman can tell you, tinting is a pain in the first place; having to rectify an altered formula after adding metallic or pearl absolutely sucks. The customer to which I had to issue a refund said his customer wanted the red metallic/pearl to have a lot more pearl in it, but he wanted single-stage paint (cheap bastard). I told him to find a different color--I said it wouldn't work, but I tried anyhow and I've been tinting paints many years. The beautiful dark red his customer had picked came out looking like a stripper's toenail. It was pink, and that was U-Tech which uses strong toners and a binder.

I issued the credit because he was a great customer, and the poor guy had to sand the entire car for a repaint, but before he could do it the asshole owner pulled the car out of his shop and brought it elsewhere. Resto's favorite customer--"Just work on it when you can," but when it's not done in a month he's pissed.
