What's a good artist you think many others don't know about?

Jr.

Driving around in circles and
I just found out that John Lennon's son does music and it's pretty decent.. if you havent heard any of it I'd advise you guys to check it out. Besides that, I really like Robert Randolph and the Family Band. Sort of a Blues/Jazz/Rock/Rap combo, they do a lot of different styles and they make them sound good. Any others you guys wanna get out there?

Julian Lennon? Yep. A long time ago and still giong on and off..
Can't say I could name a song but he had one that was really up their on the charts back in the 80s or ealry 90s..

How about Bob Dylan's son, Jakob? His band, The Wallflowers did all right for themselves. The story was that he was adament that they not get any help from Bob. They worked hard too.
Ultimately, I bet they got some attention because of the last name, but the music is pretty good stuff.

Musician: I mentioned him in a blues thread here. His names is Catfish Stephenson.

Band: They're called Hurt. They're a rock band with some orchestral instruments thrown in. A very unique sound that doesn't suck (IMO) like most bands these days.

I recommend both of them.

I'll suggest Alvin Youngblood Hart

http://www.mojomusic.com/alvin/

Plays a LOT of diferent instruments and very well.
Understands the roots of blues and how to portray it in his music, but can rock out with today's artists without breakin a sweat.

oh... maybe i should of mentioned... it's his son Sean that's doing music now too.. i dont know how recent he got into it but from the sound of it he has his dad's talent.

His son julian has some real talent too, can't say I heard sean though.
Sean Lennon did a song with Soulfly called Son Song. It's about Sean and Max's (Soulfly singer) dads.

6. Son Song

[w/ Sean Lennon]

Sometimes I don't
want to face life
Sometimes I feel empty inside
But every moment is precious
And everyone will turn to dust

Dust myself up
and I scream at the sky
It's been so hard
but I can't let it die
Turn my head up,
looking at the stars
So many years,
I still wonder where you are?
Dust myself up
and I scream at the sky
It's been so hard
and I ask myself why?
Turn my head up,
looking at the sun
Waited so long,
it's time to move on, move on

Look at the sun,
look at the sky
Another day, another sign
And every moment is precious
And everything will turn to dust

Dust myself up
and I scream at the sky
It's been so hard
but I can't let it die
Turn my head up,
looking at the stars
So many years,
I still wonder where you are?
Dust myself up
and I scream at the sky
Every day I ask myself why?
So much pain pouring
from inside
Above me I feel the spirit fly

I've always liked a band called the "Specials". One of the founding bands of the Ska movement. Also T-Rex is pretty cool, they were really huge in Europe in the 70's.

Rebel Meets Rebel

"It ain't country, it ain't metal. It's just a get together of country-metal minds" - Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott

If you like outlaw country and you also like a bit of metal give Rebel Meets Rebel a listen! Dimebag, Vinnie Paul and Rex from Pantera with David Allen Coe. I'm not a big fan of country in any form but this chit rocks!! They also redid Nothin To Lose by Coe. There is a bit of metal throw into this album but there are also some more mellow country-ish songs on it as well. Here's a vid of Nothin to Lose by Rebel Meets Rebel.... :):fishy::bravo:

I love Bridge of Sighs the first time it caught my att Dopamean and I were driving around Az looking for new front clips for her first 65 dart. We both stopped talking and were blown away by that song... Timeless

If you talk about Trower I guess you have to bring up Procol Harum good POP IMHO ( if there is such a thing ) .Conquistador and A Whiter Shade of Pale
