So I have an hour or so more to kill, I decide to get one of my 9.99 ebay wiper motors ready, I had to grind down the shaft, both "E body" motors had a larger shaft & did not come with the trans, so the dremmel & a hand file got a little more work, I gettin tired of "makin" things fit!
Got that done, cleaned it up & shot a coat a krylon! Rich.

Messed with the bracket to hold the insert foward today, not sure if it still won't pop back but it sems to be holding, valence bracket on that side was gone & valence may be way out of original shape, just hope it doesn't break my new insert!

got the wiper motor painted up & on, now I have to figger out how the rods go.
Gettin itchy to see the front end finished, might pull the grille up from the basement , was thinkin of shootin that argent lookin paint i have, sprinkling some salt on & then shootin it again???????????? only has 4 small bare(flat) spots, heck if it don't work there's always my favorite, sand it off & do it again!:doh:

Stuck the horns on too, wonder if I can get the bumper brackets on by myself without forkin up my paint! Rich.

Just checked the other car they were up & I actually pulled the top one off to clean the crap out of it, there's a stop next to the bolt hole, seemed to go in & wires looked in position, maybe hi & lo can be switched to make em go down, I'm lookin in the manuel for the wiper linkage , i'll see if they show the horns. thanks ,Rich.

Shot that argent like paint on the grille, even sprinkling salt on was too gritty, but I was loosing the grit on the other spots under the paint anyway, my bad spots still show, but it's all silver now . had to paint the black too, dipchit got whit overspray all over it when he whited out the old bay:naughty:

Borrowed C-mans buffer & started on some of the trim, it's pretty bad, this is gonna take a while!

K, spent the day trying to put the front end together, got as far as bumper brackets on & grille slipped in for a test fit, rest of the day was wasted lookin for chit & cleaning said chit!

Been thru every box & bag & I think I either had different stuff from the 74 or it's MIA
Pic below will show 6 1 1/2" 3 were in a bag with headlight stuff the other 3 I scrounged up, I think these are for the benzels, although they seem a bit long?
3 of the plastic insert nuts were off the spare header panel I got , one was off the one on the 74, none to be found for the 73, what I did find was 4 push clips & 2 bolts with washers, marked "front" the push clips do fit snugly into the same slots as the plastic insert nuts, did they do this diferently year to year? anyway here's what I got>>>>>>>>>>>

Couple more little things getting done, got the grille inserts in, I had one really good one, but opted to use the two that looked about the same.
Put my new liscense light socket in & the gas sender wire through the trunk floor, think it works(very little gas in it) but I think my old eyes saw it move a tad? cleaned up the harness a bit & soldered a few splices.

Finished sanding & clearing my front bumper guards, best chrome on the car, will probably make the bumper look even more dismal, ah well if I hit the lottery I'll get new ones! :helpme: Rich.

They look like the upper grille retainers ( the ones that go on the hood latch support).
