New MuscleCar show on Spike TV

Livin' my life...one gas station at a time.
I just saw that they'll be digging into a Challenger for a full resto project.:giggedy: The show starts in half an hour (12:30 Eastern time) on the Spike TV channel.

Here's to hoping they ACTUALLY have a clue as to what they're doing.:quaff:
It's nice to see something other than Chubby or Ferd on the idiot box once in a while.

BTW 69.5, there was a ready made frenching kit on the Trucks tv show a few minutes ago but I didn't catch the company name. The kit looked like it might have been too big for Tiny but they may have different sizes of kits. I'll try to look it up on the web site for the trucks show and see if I can find it. He said it was under $200 for the set.

I've watched it a few times. I've caught a few slip-ups but for the most part it's alright. The 30-something host trying to be 20 again is annoying sometimes though.

yeah ive dug around on the frenching stuff and theres alot of cool kits out there for it but its useualy dependent on 40's ford/chevy and 50-53 ford/chevy....sadly nothing realy small enuf to use..found a few cool tail lights but again WAY to big

Well, the so called restoration they mentioned in the commercial break ended up being a 5 minute installation of a crate hemi and a keisler 5 speed. The only thing halfway interesting they did was to move the engine mounts over to center the engine in the engine bay. Unfortunately it was like trying to watch scrambled porn on cable tv. You know something is going on but there's not enough detail to get anything out of it. The two goofballs they got doing the show wouldnt be so bad if it didn't have to try so hard to BE goofballs.

They need Gilmer and his buddy to host that show. Those guys just look like NATURAL goofballs :p.

They were pretty mean to that welding gear too. I got the impression that they didnt know what they were doing- probably never had to work on a mopar before. Thay ARE different than cookie cutter crapola.

I've seen the show a couple times.I like horsepower better,But i guess they stopped makin that cause all i ever see is reruns

In all fairness, they can't show a whole lot. They have to have different things to keep a lot of people watching. Not everybody wants to see the Challenger resto. I'm sure everybody here does but not everybody interested in cars wants to see it.

I don't. How many times do you see something besides a Ford or Chevy on there? I like Extreme 4x4 and Trucks.

I'm going to agree and disagree with that... car guys are car guys and I don't care if it's a Chevy, Ford or Citroen..I'll watch anybody work on anything with interest because you never know what you can pick up that you can use on your own car... But at the same time agree with you that they can't show everything about the build because it would get super-duper boring if you're not interested in that particular car...and because then the show would have to be 5 hours long.

I watch the whole Power Block even though I'm not in the least intersted in Trucks or Off-Roading...I just think the chick is hot (cause any girl into welding that isn't a dyke is hot) and Trucks has a lot of great ideas for any project....cars or trucks. Plus Stacy is a funny guy.

I agree with that too but seeing the same thing done over and over done on a Chevy or Ford *Cough*Horsepower TV*Cough* gets old.

I saw it for the first time this morning. It was ok. Time will tell if they finish the car out fugly but a hemi with a keisler definitely is cool to me. I took offfense the way they were talking smack about Chrysler offsetting the engine though :naughty: they made it sound like Chrysler engineering was substandard [smilie=l: Decent Mopar coverage though.

45 mins of comercials for some 15 mins of BS......aint worth the effort

As a specialist in product integration on television (hey...somebody's gotta do it) I got some news for you...

The whole two hour powerblock is one loooong commercial. Why do you think they do all those Ford and Chevy parts and only the odd Mope? Because every product you see on there....every single one...is paying to be used in the show... not just giving free parts but paying cold hard cash too. It's the new way to get you to put down the Tivo remote...you can skip all the commercials you want...the WHOLE SHOW is a commercial!
