Long John Baldry, Julie Driscoll and Rod Stewart.

"Steampacket was a British blues band of the 1960s, notable mainly for the fact that so many of its members subsequently became famous.
The group was formed by Long John Baldry after the break-up of his previous group the Hoochie Coochie Men. It included Hoochie Coochie Men vocalist Rod Stewart, female vocalist Julie Driscoll, organist Brian Auger and guitarist Vic Briggs. They were managed by Giorgio Gomelsky, who had previously been involved with The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds."

I watched a special on LJB last night.

I knew about the connections to Rod Stewart and Elton John, but there was so much more to this guy's musical career and personal life that I just had never come across.

I didn't know he was more Elton than Rod, if ya know what I mean..
not that there's anything wrong with that. I guess the gravelly voice and the reputation of hard drinking, smoking, and partying made a different impression on me.

I love his last album, Remembering Leadbelly.
