My new score--- 70 Barracuda console car, runs/drives. A.C.

"A MOPAR FOR EVERY MOOD"
I am buying this car(not in my yard yet but will be soon! I was contacted by a buddy who gave me that 66 dart vert for free and had this car to sell. He wanted $2500 and its mine. Not a bad price and I dont mind saying the price so everyone nows what I paid and knows it nots for sale.

Its a running driving, 318 console shift car with A.C, and front disc brakes. Its pretty straight with rust in lower quarters. I believe both, but its through on one quarter. I actually used to hate trunk racks, but I like it on this one, maybe because I already have a go wing on the 70 vert cuda clone and 70 drag cuda. So the rack is staying.

I am keeping the car with its original 318 and makng a little driver out of it. I have other cars to go fast in and this will get me to work. It runs and drives now, however I dont believe the a.c works.

It has its 37 years of dents and dings and needs a pass side door as this one had a dent pulled out and is beyond bad. The floor all loo solid, the trunk has some rust in it, but I believe a wire wheel, sanding and some POR 15 will keep it solid as there is no through rust.

In any case, my plans are to leave it alone and maybe do a nicer color as the only mopar I have ever liked green is NASbackyard's roadrunner. However, you really dont see any dark green barracudas any more, maybe that would be a nice color when new.?

Hope you like the pics and I cant wait to get it,and start driving it just like it is until I get a few other projects done and get this one re-done.

What color would you condiering painting it since its staying a 318 luggage rack car and a little driver??????

If good things come in threes, you better look around, cause you got the first two down, and I can't wait to see the third. Great scores, congratulations.:)

Wow you sole it for that price! Nice score! I'd just repaint it green and drive it, so you dont have to worry about the interior color either

Damnit it's people like you I:mad:....well ok all jealousy aside:D...nice scores man!! Wish I could get free and cheap rides falling into my lap! :p (and no 69.5's 4x4 Barracuda almost falling on me doesn't count!![smilie=2:)[/SIZE]

id do some google searching and have ppl post show pic's of E cuda's and pic a color that you flat out dont see cause imo that car needs to stand out amongst them..ima guess a bronze or gunmetal

Looks pretty solid. A couple small patches and you're ready to go. Are you use you didn't forget a 1 at the front of the price? :D

Excellent score man! Goes to show there are some saner heads out there than the tools dropping six figures (or seven!) for an old 'Cuda.

Now, how to get to Nevada from here...:hmmm:

yep, $2500 hundred. Yep, I am sure its worth more, but I have four E bodyCudas/ Barracudas now and wanted a driver, something with a small engine in it to drive around on a day to day summer time basis.

Now I need some ideas, colors, ect. I dont mind changing the intterior at all as I hate the green. May even go to a whilte interior to keep it cool inside for the hot days. Gimme some ideas dudes/dudettes!!!!! COLORS, WHEELS, STRIPES, ECT, ECT, ECT.

Excellent score! Thats desert pickings right there :giggedy: I love the idea of white interior. Something light on the outside would look cool as well. maybe lemon twist/white gut, or better yet with that luggage rack a double decker white/white would certainly stand out around here. It is people who roast in the 110+ heat of the desert that truly appreciate air conditioning :xl: Rubber bumpers front and back on a white/white combo, dark tinted windows. I would not be able to stick with the lo-po 318 though. Thats my idea anyway.

I know what ya mean by the 318 thing, but I have a total of four barracuda/cudas including a drag car. I want a little drivable car that can look fast/cool but is an easy driver for the work trips.

white huh:hmmm: Dave

id do a higher comp 318 with a 4brl and 340 cam go black/white on the gut or blue/white(its not seen in the 70s cars but in the 60s cars more so) light blue met(seafoam or b3) or a dark grey met tho the chrome may blend to much with this bronze would proly look pretty good on it as well...if you insist on a high impact type of color id go with a newwer car burnt orange met like something i could have swore was a honda but was likely some other import with a vibrant version of it....you kinda need a non flashy color with the rack on the back...keep a set of chrome bumpers on it or its going to make the rack look out of place ..a darker silver argent for the tail panel area ..wheels im partial to the cragger ss and a set of fat bfg's white letters out..some tastefull pinstripe work..frenched powe4r antena or deleted

drive it as-is. Get it a-1 mechanical then patch panels and primer. Kraco-matic am/fm cassette in the dash, no worries on interior color they make fake fur in several.

For sale signs with "NOT" sharpied before the "for" :giggedy:

Early 80's "nostalgia car"

CUDA FISHIN IS FUN

DID YOU ASK FOR IDEAS? WELL HERE IS MINE---ALL THE OTHER CARS ARE BEEFED UP RIGHT? / so make this a straight show room off the lot origanal/ you,ve got all the # and i take they all match so it is all there/ i wouldn,t touch it any other way/ as for colour go orig. and keep the same int./ it would be worth more being there arn,t that many around/ keep it straight no fancy stuff/ you can always find one in worse shape and build that one / but you should always have an original among the rest and when photograghs are takin you put this one out front and "V" the rest/ GOOD LUCK LIL' BUDDY----fishin for CUDA is FUN :bravo: eh?

Dave, Looks great. I like the luggage rack. Vitamin C for Paint

BTW, Carlisle was great, sorry you could not make it. I may be going to Las Vegas this year.

Whats wrong with a 318? Have to seen how basic my build is? next outing should easily turn 13s with the new torque converter...at 5,000ft d/a, which i know you up where your at is about ~7,000ft d/a. With a little port work or something to help flow, i dont see why you couldnt have a low 14second 318 barracuda with not much of a build. Yes, its not 'fast' but its still fun. And i do daily drive mine, so it definately falls under the reliable category :xl:

Well, it is staying a 318 for the next few years, I am going with a different color, not sure which yet.
